Minimax Global Solutions has decided to be informative regarding some of the challenges the industry is facing. We know that through either the news or social media platforms, you have no doubt heard about the shortages and the mandate that has taken precedent recently; this can be scary to many of you. We are glad that some of these issues have been brought to the forefront, as many of you might not understand how important truck drivers are to keeping the world running. So let us talk about it.
Canada has to import from other countries, trade has been important to any nation for thousands of years. Over the road transportation contributes to a large portion of that US trade. Products that are transported range from fresh produce, meat, dairy, automotive parts, fossil fuels and building materials to name a few.
There have been challenges in the transportation industry for years. Rising Insurance Cost, New drivers not getting insurance due to no experience, worker shortages as a result of pandemic or shortages of skill workers, driver shortage, supply chain issues, manufacturing shortages, rising age of the workforce,…. The list is endless. Consider it a perfect storm.
Our company and many others are working hard to make sure that we can deal with the obstacles we are facing and prepare for more shortages. We are doing our best to move freight and keep things going, but in saying that we do understand the significance to the ones moving your goods. We know firsthand the frustration and obstacles our truckers face day-to-day.
