Flin Flon RCMP traffic stop leads to three arrests after kidnapping
On September 19, 2026, at 5:30 am., Flin Flon RCMP initiated a traffic stop on a vehicle with five occupants while on Hapnot Street.
As officers approached the vehicle they recognized the male driver, who was known to them to be prohibited from driving. The 48-year-old was arrested without incident.
Two females and a male were located in the rear seat. The females, ages 26 and 47, along with a 36-year-old male who was in the front passenger seat, were all released without charge.
The additional male in the back did not respond to questions from officers until the females had left the scene.
Officers learned the male passengers were threatened with a machete at a residence and then taken against their will by the driver and two females in the vehicle.
The suspects were headed to a bank, where the victims could withdraw money.
While doing a subsequent search of the vehicle, officers located a knife.
The victim was taken to hospital by EMS where he was treated and released for a minor injury. The other male victim was not injured.
A 48-year-old male from Sherridon, has been charged with the following:
• Kidnapping without a fi***rm;
• Forcible confinement;
• Operation while prohibited;
• Assault with weapon; and
• Uttering threats against a person
Two females ages 26, and 47, from Flin Flon, have been charged with the following:
• Kidnapping without a fi***rm;
• Forcible confinement;
• Assault with a weapon; and
• Uttering threats against
All three have all been remanded.
Flin Flon RCMP continue to investigate.
