The bus makes several stops at the outdoor Market at the Lions Field on Saturdays. In addition, the bus will also operate on Sunday afternoons if requested in advance by emailing [email protected] by 9 pm on Saturday.

See the attached schedule and route map (also available at www.galianobus.ca). Regular fare is $5.

As indicated on the map, the South End Route is a circular loop. Branching off from the loop are optional stops at Sticks Allison and the Golf Course (Ellis Rd). Riders on board the bus can ask the driver to be dropped off at these optional stops, but if you would like to be picked up at these stops, please email your request in advance to [email protected] by 9 pm the day prior to the day you wish to be picked up.

Please also note that all the stops on the North End Route on Friday, Saturday, and Sunday are optional, and will be made only if requested by an on-board rider, or if there is an advance request for a pickup at these stops sent to [email protected] by 9 pm the day prior to the day you wish to be picked up.

In addition to the weekend transit service, the community bus transports students to the school water taxi at Sturdies Bay on school day mornings (usually Mon-Thurs).

The bus leaves Retreat Cove Road at 6:55 am, and makes stops at McClure Road, Montague, and Daystar, arriving at Sturdies Bay at 7:20 am. The bus can pick-up anywhere along Porlier Pass Road, Montague Road, Georgeson Bay Road, or Sturdies Bay Road where it is safe to stop.

The bus also meets the school water taxi at Sturdies Bay when it returns at 5:40 pm on school days, and transports students back up island. Members of the public are welcome to board this bus on either the morning or evening run for the usual $5 fare.

If you live at the north end and want a ride south to the weekly Soup and Bread lunch on Mondays at the South Galiano Community Hall, just email [email protected] by 9 pm on Sunday. If there is sufficient interest we'll run the optional North End Route, leaving the North Galiano Community Hall at 11:45 am and doing pickups along Porlier Pass Road on the way south, arriving at the South Hall by 12:30 pm. Leave from the South Hall at 1:30 pm for the return trip to the north end.
