📞 A Quick Update on Our New Phone System

Dabs Cabs has introduced a new automated phone system to make calling us easier and give our dispatcher more time to focus on customers who need immediate service.

When you call 226-236-3227, you’ll be given two options:

Press 1 for immediate dispatch or a ride today.
Choose this option if you need a cab as soon as possible or later within the same day.

Press 2 for future bookings
You’ll be directed to voicemail. Please leave your name, phone number, pickup details, date and time, along with as much information as possible. We’ll return your call within 24 hours.

While the new system was being set up, a few calls may not have come through properly. We sincerely apologize to anyone we may have missed and appreciate your patience while we worked everything out.

Everything now appears to be working properly, and we’re confident this new system will help us serve our customers throughout Grand Bend and Lambton Shores more efficiently.

PLEASE PLAN AHEAD: Dabs Cabs will be completely closed on Monday, September 14, for our staff day.

Our team went incredibly hard all summer long. There were long days, busy nights and plenty of challenges along the way, but we learned something every day and continued finding ways to improve. I honestly couldn’t be prouder of our staff or more thankful for the effort they put in throughout the entire summer.

They’ve earned a day to slow down and enjoy themselves. So, for one day, we’re parking the cabs and treating our crew to a relaxing day on the water, a barbecue, some laughs and some well-deserved time together.

This is a full-day closure. Dispatch will be closed, our phones will not be monitored for service, and no cabs, pre-booked rides or airport transfers will be available.

We will return to regular service Tuesday, September 15 at 8:00 a.m., rested and ready to get back to the regular hustle and bustle of local rides, school, sports, evenings out and everything that follows the summer rush.

Thank you to our entire community for understanding and for supporting us throughout such a busy summer. You kept us moving, trusted our crew and helped make this season possible. We truly couldn’t have done it without you!

Looking for something a little different to do in Grand Bend?

Paint-tastic By Ellie is coming to Torched Brewing Company on Thursday, August 27 for an evening of acrylic pour painting — and there’s still time to grab your tickets!

This actually sounds like a pretty great night out. Grab your wife, husband, girlfriend, boyfriend, best friend — whoever you want to spend the evening with — head over to Torched, grab a drink, make some art and have some fun with it.

And you definitely do not need to be an artist. Acrylic pouring is all about picking your colours, pouring them out and seeing what you create. Every piece comes out different.

📅 Thursday, August 27
⏰ 6:00–8:00 p.m.
📍 Torched Brewing Company – Grand Bend
🎟️ Tickets starting at $35

Paint-tastic by Ellie has been taking these workshops to breweries and venues all across Southwestern Ontario, and it's great to see them bringing one right here to Grand Bend.

Good b**r. Good company. A little creativity. And you get to go home with something you actually made.

Sounds like a pretty solid date night to us. 🍻🎨

There’s still plenty of time — grab your tickets and make a night of it!

🌅 EARLY MORNINGS? NO PROBLEM.

Our regular operating hours start at 8:00 a.m., and most nights we're on the road until around 3:00 a.m. — but that doesn't mean you're out of luck if you need a ride outside those hours.

Need to leave at 5:00 or 6:00 in the morning? Heading to the airport? Catching a train? Have an early appointment, work shift, or somewhere important to be?

We're more than happy to accommodate pre-arranged trips outside of our regular business hours.

The key is to plan ahead. If you know you'll need transportation early in the morning — or at another time when we're normally closed — give us a call in advance and we'll do our best to have a driver scheduled and ready for you.

Don't assume it's too early to call Dabs Cabs. If we can make it work, we will. 🚕☀️

A Little Further Out

Forest
I didn’t find a clean confirmed Friday or Saturday night listing for Forest that I’d trust enough to add as a dated event this week. Forest is still worth keeping on the radar for local food stops, golf, and anyone travelling through North Lambton.

Exeter
Exeter is always worth the short drive for restaurants, shopping, and a night out just beyond the Grand Bend area. I didn’t find a specific Exeter event I’d confidently add for this exact weekend without a stronger source.

Grand Bend Strip, Patios & Nightlife Stops

Baja Beach Bar, Growling Gator, Industria, Midori, Willy’s, Tipsy Pelican, Colonial Hotel, La Playita, Crabby Joe’s, The Kiwi, Dave’s Pub, and the Main Street patio scene are all worth keeping in your weekend plans for food, drinks, patios, beach energy, and late-night stops.

I found some general public activity around a few of these spots, but not enough clean current detail to confirm exact performer names, dates, and times for this weekend. If those venues post something more specific, we can add them directly into the day-by-day lineup.

Weekend Stops Around Town

Shale Ridge Estate Winery & C***ry in Thedford is always a great daytime stop for w**e, c***r, food, and the estate experience.
