β€œMy Mother had frontal lobe dementia and I did my best to take care of her, until she needed to be placed into long term care. When she got into placement, I made sure she knew I was always there. It is because of my Mother that I began my career in working with seniors. I was hired to drive seniors to a day program, and realised just how much I adored working with them. I understand the needs seniors have and want to help keep them independent by providing a transportation service, so that they do not feel like a burden to their friends or family. I dedicate my business to my Mom, Georgina. Her birthday is May 8th, and this is the day I officially opened my business.” - Lynda

May 8 2017 is the day I opened my business. I miss my clientele so much. I miss driving, chatting, laughing, getting hugs and some of my clients even gave a kiss on the cheek and I have been told that they loved me. I never hesitated with a reply of I love you too. It would have been 9 years today. Oh, how I wish covid never happened πŸ₯Ί I never grew my clientele back up. Thank you to all those who supported me, to all those who became my clients πŸ₯Ί to city hall who allowed me to open my business. A special thank you to St. Joe's for hiring me in 2012 and gave me one of the best jobs I ever had. They allowed me to take many workshops and receive certificates for how to work with participants with Dementia, Aquired Brain Injuries, Parkinson, MS and Aphasia verbal and non verbal. This opened the world to me and with my background in transportation and having these certificates. Just Call Lynda became a wonderful business with such amazing people and I met so many wonderful people who all cared about seniors. Thank you Everyone 😊

I just received an email from Community votes Guelph 2026. I want to thank everyone who voted but I am not in business anymore so I will make sure that my business is not included in 2027. It does feel wonderful knowing people still care about me and oh how I wish I was still working. I have not been able to drive since December 24 2024. I can't stand up for more than 15 minutes if I'm lucky, I can only sit for very long before the pain starts and I can't walk unassisted. I have a walker for all outings which is medical appointments, I haven't been grocery shopping in I honestly can't remember the last time as it's too much strain on my legs and spine. Thank you Guelph for still thinking of me and my once wonderful business (Just Call Lynda) πŸ˜ŠπŸ’œ

I have not posted very much here. Yesterday I posted a picture of my feet showing you one thing that has happened to me.

Since December 24 2024 I have not been able to drive or even walk. I was in pain in my back and legs. I developed foot drop in my right foot and I wasn't allowed to drive. I saw a Neurologist who examined me and recommended I see a nerve specialist and start seeing a pain clinic here in Guelph. The pain clinic sent me for multiple x-rays and ultrasounds. Once the pain doctor received the results he said to me that I have osteoarthritis all through my spine, I have bursitis on both hips. I was in so much pain my poor husband was lost trying to help me. Once the Nerve Block Injections started I was in more pain than ever. I was going every Tuesday and Thursday for these Injections. The good thing was my foot drop was cured, the bad thing was my sciatica was sparked in my left leg. I was hospitalized for a few days in August and I was deemed a fall risk due to many times being taken by ambulance. I'm not allowed outside without someone being with me. I use a walker, and I'm struggling with everything. I've been bedridden for over a year, all I do is go every Tuesday for Nerve Block Injections and or to see my family physician or some other specialist. Dr. Sarco did some tests and he said my spine has severe nerve damage. I was struggling to walk after a bad fall and he's the one who diagnosed me with CRPS. He also said that I need to see a spinal surgeon unfortunately there is a very long wait to get an appointment.

So, I closed the business down as I need my husband home with me. He takes me to all my appointments and he helps me πŸ’― around the house. He does the cooking, cleaning, laundry and even helping me in and out of the bathtub so I can shower.

I just want you all to know that I'm doing the best in this situation. I don't know if I'll ever be able to drive again. I'm trying to stay as positive as much as I can until depression sets in then I have to snap out of it. I'm on pain pills and it took a long time to find something that works for me. It's not 100 % but it helps a lot.

I'm sorry this is a long read and I just want you to that I'm still here and to tell you how much my life has changed. The post I put on here yesterday was just the tip of the iceberg in why I can do anything by myself. I will keep you informed when I learn what is happening to me.

Please take care of yourselves and try to take life as it comes with a smile and gratitude because you never know when it can change on a dime.

Thank you
Lynda

This is what a CRPS (Complex Regional Pain Syndrome) foot looks like. Unfortunately it will get worse. It will swell, become more inflamed and more redness will happen. I'm hoping to get into remission where it won't become worse 😫 but...πŸ˜–πŸ˜’

I want to say to my clients and to all the caregivers. Merry Christmas and Happy New Year. Let's hope the New Year is much better for all of who are struggling in life. I want to say the biggest THANK YOU to all those caregivers, PSW, and every single person who work with the elderly and those who need assistance in life and every good person out there. THANK YOU FOR EVERYTHING YOU DO.

I don't post often as I'm in lots of pain constantly. Here is my latest rant and to answer those who keep asking. Thank you for caring.

For those asking.... Nothing is working, I am taking pharmaceutical drugs that aren't working. I am having chiropractor adjustments twice a week, Nerve Block Injections once a week, physio (government physio - what a joke. Exercise only 😑) I fell a couple weeks ago and have injured my left foot badly. I'm to stay off my foot but I'm a fall risk and can't use crutches. How do you Exercise when you're in constant pain and can't stand on my foot. So where do we go from here...... I am now waiting for a surgeon to call me with an appointment. Is this my only hope!! The surgeon is in Kitchener, does anyone have any experience with a Dr. Kunal Bhanot?
