The global shipping market is entering another period of heightened volatility.

🌪️ Typhoon-related disruption is continuing to pressure major Chinese gateways, with Shanghai and Ningbo facing growing congestion and vessel backlogs.

🌍 Global container port congestion remains exceptionally high, putting further pressure on vessel schedules and available capacity.

💰 Freight rates remain elevated and volatile, with Drewry’s World Container Index at approximately $4,473 per 40ft container as of August 27.

⚠️ At the same time, maritime traffic through the Strait of Hormuz remains significantly below normal levels, keeping geopolitical and routing risks firmly on the radar.
