REMEMBERING CHUCK 🖤

Council and staff at the Municipality of Brighton were saddened to learn of the passing of our colleague, Chuck Ward.

Chuck began his service to Brighton as a Councillor - first for the former Town of Brighton, and then for the newly created Municipality of Brighton following amalgamation in 2001. Chuck continued to serve the community as a crossing guard beginning in 2017 at various locations in Brighton. Most recently, he stood faithfully, no matter the elements, in Smithfield and at the corner of Main and Prince Edward Streets in Downtown Brighton, ready with a wave, a smile, and sometimes even a dog treat.

Chuck was a true pillar in the Brighton community who touched the lives of many, often with just a moment of kindness in passing. He will be dearly missed by all who knew him.

Our thoughts are with Chuck's family at this time. Municipal staff and Council are working with Chuck's family to ensure a meaningful tribute is created in his memory. To honour his life and service, municipal flags will be lowered for the week.
