BLUE WATER BRIDGE, ONTARIO – Two Ontario truck drivers have been arrested at the border with co***ne allegedly linked to Ryan Wedding's narco cartel.
On August 28, 2024, at 3:26 a.m., a long-haul tractor trailer loaded with steel bars pulled up on the U.S. side of the Blue Water Bridge. The driver, Iqbal Singh Virk, an owner-operator based in Brampton, and his co-driver, Ranjit Singh Rowal, both Indian citizens with permanent resident status in Canada, claimed they had no guns, drugs, or cash over $5,000.
During a secondary inspection, an X-ray system detected an anomaly at the rear of the trailer. Officers discovered a hidden compartment containing 115 bricks of co***ne weighing over 124 kilos, with an estimated street value of nearly US$4 million.
Both men were arrested. The investigation revealed they were part of a transportation network allegedly connected to Ryan Wedding, a former Olympic snowboarder named as the mastermind behind a large co***ne trafficking operation. Wedding and 15 others were indicted two months later.
Virk and Rowal were transferred to California to face charges.
Ranjit Singh Rowal pleaded guilty to:
❌Conspiracy to Distribute Co***ne
❌Possession with Intent to Distribute Co***ne
Rowal was sentenced to 37 months in prison.
Iqbal Singh Virk also pleaded guilty in September, with his sentencing scheduled for March.
