A Day in the Life of an Art Gallery: Simon Blais — Where Light & Color Finds Their Home 🎨
There’s a particular kind of gallery that doesn’t just display art—it understands it. Galerie Simon Blais, a fixture on Saint-Laurent Boulevard in Montreal, is one of those rare spaces.
Over the past few months, Moviiu has had the privilege of working behind the scenes with this institution, supporting the movement and care of its artworks as the gallery prepared for an ambitious season of exhibitions. By managing logistics and existing inventory, we helped create the physical and curatorial space needed to bring new visions to life. This is what partnership looks like when great art is supported by great infrastructure. ✨
Walk into Galerie Simon Blais and you immediately sense the intention. The architecture doesn’t compete with the work—it amplifies it. High ceilings offer breathing room. Natural light reveals the true character of each piece: the subtle layering of pastel, the depth of oil, the vibrancy of color no artificial light can replicate. The philosophy is clear: the art comes first. 🌟
This winter, the gallery celebrates the work of Rita Letendre, a Canadian artist whose career spans decades of fearless exploration. Letendre doesn’t whisper—she declares. Her compositions explode with color, movement, and energy. Works like The Sun Also Sets and Bonjour lumière, bonjour soleil invite us to experience color as emotion and force. Awarded the Governor General’s Award in 2010, her legacy endures because her work insists on being felt.
At Moviiu, we understand that moving art isn’t just logistics—it’s stewardship. 💎
