Have you ever heard of a golden eyelash viper?

Well, yes (Bothriechis nigroadspersus), its scientific name, commonly known as the Bocaracá or eyelash palm pit-viper, it's one of the most famous snakes in our country. They can be observed in rainforests and subtropical forests on the Caribbean and Pacific slopes, from sea level up to 1,500 meters in altitude. While nocturnal, they can often be seen during the day resting in mid-height vegetation in our country's rainforests.

Although it is a venomous species, it doesn't pose a danger if left undisturbed or unstressed. This species is one of the vipers with the greatest color variation.
