🚖 ABERDEENSHIRE NEW TARIFF UPDATE - 1st December 2024 🚖

If you are the owner of any of the following types of taxi meters Cygnus, Digitax, Epsilon, Tetas or Viking as from 1st December 2024, all Aberdeenshire taxi meters must have their tariff updated.

Any such vehicle presented for a hackney test at the Council’s testing centres, which does not have the updated tariff, will automatically fail the hackney test.

Any vehicle whose meter is not updated cannot/should not operate legally as a Taxi or Private Hire taxi and the licence holder will be in breach of their licensing conditions and committing an offence. It is a criminal offence to use a vehicle in which the taxi meter does not have the current updated tariff and if caught your licence may be suspended.

This taxi meter tariff update is for ABERDEENSHIRE TAXIS ONLY (NOT Aberdeen City). The cost will be £50.00.

We are normally closed at weekends but we will be open on Sunday 1st December from 10.00AM until 2.00PM. No appointments necessary between these times.

❌🚖❌ CYGNUS TAXI METER UPDATE ❌🚖❌

We have been aware there has been an issue regarding the initial waiting time with Cygnus meters since the tariff update at Lochside school on 31st July.

We have now had this issue corrected and updated by Cygnus. All taxis with Cygnus meters will have to come into our premises (address below) to have their meter updated, it should only take a few minutes to update.

Drivers MUST call Aberdeen Taxi Meters on the number below to book an appointment so that drivers are not all turning up at the same time.
If drivers just turn up, we may not be able to update your meter straight away.

❌🚖 ABERDEENSHIRE TARIFF UPDATE FROM 1ST APRIL 2023🚖❌

If you are the owner of any of the following types of taxi meters Cygnus, Digitax, Epsilon, Tetas or Viking as from 1st April 2023, all taxi meters must have their tariff updated by us, Aberdeen Taxi Meters.

If this update is not done your tariff/clock calendar holiday dates will expire and your meter will no longer change to the correct tariff at the appropriate times.

Also any such vehicle presented for a hackney test at the Council’s testing centres, which does not have the updated tariff, will automatically fail the hackney test.

Any vehicle whose meter is not updated cannot/should not operate legally as a Taxi or Private Hire taxi and the licence holder will be in breach of their licensing conditions and committing an offence. It is a criminal offence to use a vehicle in which the taxi meter does not have the current updated tariff and if caught your licence may be suspended.

We will be opening Saturday 1st and Sunday 2nd April especially for this tariff update between 0900 hours 9.00am / 1600 hours 4.00pm.

Otherwise our normal opening hours are
Monday to Thursday 0800 hours - 8.00am / 17.00 hours - 5.00pm
Friday 0800 hours - 8.00am / 16.00 hours - 4.00pm

ATTENTION: all taxi drivers with Aberdeen City tariff (not Aberdeenshire tariff) with VIKING METERS ONLY. There is a issue with the software in these meters, they seem to have frozen on tariff 6.

You will need to come across to the office in Cove to have this issue rectified.

We will open up between the hours below

Wednesday 4th January- 10am/1000 hours until 4pm/1600 hours
Thursday 5th January- (Normal service) 8am/0800 hours until 5pm/1700 hours.

💥💥TAXI METER ANNOUNCEMENT 💥💥

As from Monday 1st August 2022 Aberdeen Taxi Meters Limited (ATM) will take over Cabtech Taxi Meter Services from Alan Catto.

From this date onwards Aberdeen Taxi Meters will carry out all work including taxi meter installs/destalls, tariff updates or repairs etc from our premises in Cove.

Alan will continue to work from Cove and be part of the Aberdeen Taxi Meters team for the forseeable future.
