🎉 CELEBRATE ABERDEEN PARADE – TOMORROW! 🌈🎶

The Celebrate Aberdeen Parade returns to the city this Saturday 29 August, bringing plenty of colour, music and a fantastic atmosphere to the city centre!

🏃 10:30am – Mel’s Mile kicks things off with three running races
🎉 11am – The main parade begins from Albyn Place, with up to 4,000 people representing more than 100 local third-sector organisations making their way through the city to Broad Street.

🚧 Travelling into town?

Road closures will be in place along the parade route and surrounding streets between 10am and 1pm, so allow a little extra time for your journey. Parking could also be tricky, so why not leave the car at home?

Road closure notice:

Essential resurfacing work means the eastbound side of Great Northern Road will be closed between Anderson Road and Don Street from Sunday 23 August to Friday 11 September.

Local access will still be available, but there may be short delays while the work is taking place. Please use another route if you can.

Thank you for your patience while this important work is carried out.

***ROADS UPDATE***
Due to replacement of the pedestrian crossing, the Parkway will be closed from 04:00 on Monday 24th August to 17:00 on Friday 11th September. The closure will be from the Danestone Roundabout to Buckie Farm. An alternative route is via Gordon Brae, Grandholm Drive, Balgownie Drive and Balgownie Road.

🌑☀️ SOLAR ECLIPSE TONIGHT! ☀️🌑

The rare solar eclipse begins at around 6:20pm TONIGHT, when the moon starts moving across the sun. 👀

With around 90% of the sun expected to be covered, it should be quite a sight across Aberdeen and Aberdeenshire!

The eclipse will be visible across Aberdeen and Aberdeenshire for just under two hours, making it one of the best solar eclipse events we’ve seen since 1999.
