Hi Speed’s 5 simple Tips to use less fuel ⛽📉

Fuel prices are climbing again, and it doesn’t look like it will drop anytime soon affecting millions of us in the UK.

At Hi Speed Services, efficient driving is part of the job. Here are five easy tips to help us through the pinch:

1. Drive smoothly
Ease off the accelerator, brake gently and change gear early. Smoother driving can cut fuel use by up to 15%.

2. Check your tyres
Check pressures monthly and follow the manufacturer’s guidance. Under-inflated tyres make your engine work harder.

3. Clear the clutter
Remove anything you don’t need from the boot. An extra 50 kg can increase fuel use by 1–2%.

4. Remove unused roof gear
Take off empty roof racks and boxes. At motorway speeds, a roof box can use up to 20% more fuel.

5. Use air-con wisely
Open the windows around town; at 50+ mph, close them and use ventilation or light air-con.
