We're backing Uber Fife's legal challenge over Fife Council's handling of Uber's booking office licence application.

Hundreds of Fifers took the trouble to object, only to see their objections thrown out over signature requirements.

Whether you're for or against Uber isn't really the point. If the council invites the public to have their say, the very least it can do is make sure the process is fair and lawful.

There are serious questions about how electronic objections were handled, and they deserve answers.

Uber Fife has already raised 43% of its initial £5,000 legal fund in just one day.

We're pleased to support the challenge and thank everyone who's chipped in.

Uber is applying for a Booking Office Licence to operate in Fife.

This is a serious development for local taxi drivers and operators, and it’s important that the trade makes its voice heard.

EFTA will be submitting a formal objection — and from tomorrow we will also be publishing an online objection template that drivers and operators can sign, which will automatically be lodged with Fife Council.
