Summer has gone.

The b**r gardens aren’t full, the long sunny evenings have disappeared and those spontaneous “shall we go for a pint?” afternoons become fewer and fewer.

And for many local pubs, this is when it gets tough.

The bills don’t get smaller because summer has finished. The lights still need switching on, the b**r still needs ordering, the staff still need paying and the doors still need opening — even on those cold, dark nights when there might only be a handful of people inside.

Across Britain, 161 pubs closed for good in just the first three months of 2026.

We really don’t want to see more of them disappear.

So this weekend, wherever you are…

Find a pub.

Have a pint. 🍺
Have a bite to eat. 🍴
Take the family.
Meet your mates.
Talk to a stranger at the bar.
Watch the football.
Play a game of pool.
And most importantly, have a laugh.

It doesn’t have to be The Black Swan. Go to your favourite local, try one you’ve never been in before, or finally visit that little pub you’ve driven past a hundred times.

Because these places matter.

They’re where we celebrate birthdays, raise a glass to people we’ve lost, meet old friends, make new ones and put the world to rights for an hour or two.

Pubs need people all year round — not just when the sun is shining.

So this weekend, give your local a little bit of love. ❤️

Good morning folks
Here at Coxy's Cars our summer holidays are about to come to an end.
That's the bad news, the good news is that we will be back in harness from Thursday 20th August.
