Tube commuters could be set to pay more in the upcoming year as Sadiq Khan's Transport for London(TfL) are considering whether to introduce an Uber-style 'dynamic pricing' platform, to get passengers to pay more at busy times.
The scheme, which would see prices rise or fall depending on demand, could be used to address changing commuter travel patterns resulting from home working in the wake of the pandemic.
The London mayor's top transport adviser, Seb Dance, was asked by Lib-Dem Caroline Pidgeon at a London Assembly meeting on Tuesday whether TfL might introduce 'more differentiation between types of services', such as 'dynamic fare pricing', when the annual fares review happen next March. Mr Dance replied: 'It's a decision for the mayor but it's also on the advice of TfL as well, as well as my own [advice].
Under the pretence of getting more people to travel on the tube at a cheaper rate if the book early enough in-between peak hours.
But we all know that Khan's real aim appears to be to charge passengers more at busier times, such as when the tubes are packed during the rush hours. The times when most working people are travelling to and from their employment, or coming home from the theatre in the evening.

We as a trade, know only too well the results of the so called “safety measures" that have been put in place by Khan and his team, with help for certain councils. LTNs, segregated cycle lanes, restricted road usage and a blanket 20mph speed limit, has raised untold millions in fines. But worst of all, is the congestion these measures have bought about.
Councils have also lied about traffic on the periphery of LTNs, saying road usage has dramatically reduced. The way they measure the traffic, is with vehicle counting wires across the roads. But (and all councils know this) the wires do not record vehicles travelling under 10mph. On their computer modelling, it looks as if most of the traffic has evaporated.
Sadiq Khan cannot be trusted to do the right thing for London, he’s only interested in raising money for his personal agendas and schemes.
It’s just one cash grab, after another.
Sadiq Khan is also refusing to publish a report on the impact of the ULEZ expansion before May's Mayoral election, because he knows it could well lose him the election.
