We are the North East’s local low emission taxi provider based in Blyth servicing Northumberland, Newcastle and the North of Tyne area for over 30 years. Phoenix was the first taxi firm in the UK to put Nissan’s LEAF on as a taxi. The LEAF emits no carbon during journeys, and there is no negative impact on the environment whatsoever whilst the car is running. As electric vehicle pioneers, we’ve ma

naged to cut our carbon footprint as well as support business owners to do the same. Over the years we have dramatically increased our fleet size without compromising our environmental commitment. We purchase vehicles new and consider CO2 emissions as an integral factor in deciding whether to add a vehicle to our fleet - we are only interested in progressive vehicular technologies, efficient in terms of both fuel consumption and CO2 emissions.

🎒 SCHOOLS ARE BACK. YOU MADE IT!

Parents, grandparents, carers and everyone else who helped keep the kids entertained over the summer holidays, congratulations. You got through it! 😅🙌

We hope the return to school went smoothly today. Uniforms found and ironed, bags packed and everyone through the gates on time.

Now, someone put the kettle on. You’ve earned it. ☕

Over the summer, we’ve really enjoyed sharing our local what’s on guides, discovering new places and highlighting some of the brilliant events, attractions and businesses across our region.

And just because the school holidays are over, that doesn’t mean the guides have to stop.

We’ll continue sharing ideas for weekends and school breaks, along with more local business spotlights and plenty of reasons to explore what’s happening across South East Northumberland.

Phoenix has been made aware of extremely serious allegations involving a driver associated with the company. We recognise the distress and concern this will cause within our community.

The individual has been removed from all Phoenix duties with immediate effect while Northumbria Police carry out their investigation.

The safety and safeguarding of our passengers is our highest priority, and we are cooperating fully with Northumbria Police and Northumberland County Council.

As this is an active police matter, it would be inappropriate for us to comment further at this stage.
