✨ Sustainable transport can connect us with our neighbours

Sustainable transport does more than make our air cleaner —it brings people closer together. Sharing journeys, recognising familiar faces on the bus, and spending more time in local spaces all help us get to know our neighbours and generate a sense of community.

Travelling together, to work, school, or nearby destinations creates everyday opportunities to connect. It helps turn strangers into neighbours, making the people around us feel more real and relatable, rather than distant figures seen only through screens or social media.

By encouraging these shared experiences, sustainable travel supports stronger relationships, deeper community ties, and healthier, more vibrant places to live and work. 🤝

🚆💼 Medway businesses: your business journey, your opportunity 🌟

This , we’re encouraging businesses to think differently about how they and their teams travel—and the value it can unlock.

✨ Boost productivity - According to the Department for Transport, business travel by train delivers over £40 per hour in productivity value 📈
Unlike driving, rail travel allows employees to work, prepare, or recharge, making travel time truly productive.

✨ Encouraging public transport, walking, or cycling supports physical activity and mental wellbeing 💚
Less stressful commutes, more movement, and better work-life balance can lead to higher engagement, reduced absenteeism, and improved morale.

✨ Sustainable travel options help businesses cut carbon emissions and improve air quality 🌱
That’s a win for ESG goals, corporate responsibility, and your reputation with customers, partners, and future talent.

✨ Reducing reliance on single-occupancy car travel can help lower travel costs, parking demand, and congestion-related delays 💸

✨ Public and shared transport networks link people to opportunities—helping your business stay accessible, inclusive, and well-connected 🤝

💡 Encourage alternatives to car travel 🚆 | Promote flexible commuting 🚌 | Support active travel 🚲
