While we understand that for some families, a direct cremation is the most appropriate option, it's important to consider who you go to for a direct cremation. It may seem ideal to go with a larger company. However, in many cases, your loved one may be kept in a storage hub prior to cremation. These big companies often lack experienced funeral-trained staff, and cremations are carried out far from home, with little transparency on where or when they will take place. Whereas with us at David Butterfield Funeral Directors, your loved ones are looked after in our in-house professional facility until the day of the cremation.

As a local, family-owned funeral director, we offer our Purely Cremation service starting from £1295.00, providing a dignified and personal alternative. Which is, in actual fact, comparative to the pricing that larger companies will charge anyway. Your loved one will remain in our care, locally, and their cremation will be conducted at a nearby crematorium by experienced professionals. They are never 'just another number,' and we ensure they are treated with compassion and respect at all times.

For those seeking something more personal, our Direct Cremation Plus package from £1995.00 includes the option of a meaningful service in our beautifully appointed chapel for up to 50 guests, followed by an unattended cremation the next working day. This package includes the funeral officiant’s fee, and cremation costs.
