🚨 IMPORTANT NOTICE – NEW BOOKING POLICY 🚨
Unfortunately, we’ve had to make a change to our booking policy regarding wedding and late-night bookings.
When you book a taxi for a specific time, particularly for a wedding or late at night, we have to commit a vehicle and driver to that booking.
That often means turning away other work in order to make sure we have a vehicle available for you.
What some people may not realise is that when a customer doesn't turn up, we don't simply lose the one taxi fare we were expecting.
We can potentially lose HUNDREDS OF POUNDS IN OTHER FARES because we have already turned customers away and kept that vehicle available for the original booking.
For example, a taxi could potentially have completed several jobs during the time it has been reserved. Instead, the driver may end up sitting waiting for a passenger who never arrives — while the work we could have taken has gone elsewhere.
We still have fuel, wages, insurance, vehicle finance, maintenance and all the other costs of running a taxi business, whether that vehicle is carrying passengers or sitting empty.
We completely understand that genuine emergencies happen, and sometimes circumstances are outside your control. We will always try to be reasonable.
However, unfortunately, no-shows are becoming increasingly costly for us.
🚕 FROM NOW ON…
A deposit will be required for all wedding bookings and late-night bookings.
The deposit secures the vehicle and driver specifically for your booking and, subject to our booking terms, will be deducted from the final fare.
If you no longer require your taxi, PLEASE LET US KNOW AS SOON AS POSSIBLE.
Even a quick phone call can allow us to release the vehicle and potentially take other work.
We’re a small local taxi business, and our time is our livelihood.
A no-show doesn't just cost us the fare we didn't get — it can mean hundreds of pounds worth of other fares that we could have earned but had to turn away.
We hope everyone can understand why we have had to introduce this.
