Every month I’m approached by people asking if Harry’s Taxis would like to sponsor a team, advertise in a magazine, or become a partner in one project or another.
I’ve always had one simple rule: if I don’t know you or your values, I can’t stand behind your product – and I wouldn’t expect you to stand behind mine either.
Recently I caught up with a friend I’ve known for over 30 years. He told me about a project he’s been working on and asked if I’d consider becoming a sponsor.
That project is Skerne Park FC.
As men, and as adults in general, we can sometimes find ourselves unintentionally isolated. Life gets busy, worries build up, and before you know it, you’re dealing with things on your own. Having somewhere to belong, keeping active, and knowing there are people looking out for you can make a real difference.
Daniel and the rest of the lads have created far more than just a football team. They’ve built a support network where people can exercise, build friendships, talk about life’s challenges in a safe environment, and look out for one another – almost like a brotherhood.
I’m proud that Harry’s Taxis can play a small part in supporting Daniel and the team, helping to keep this going for another season.
If you get a chance, head over and support the lads. Follow their page, see what they’re doing each week, and get behind a club that’s making a genuine difference in the community. It doesn’t cost a penny to follow, and who knows… if you fancy a kickabout, there might even be a place for you in the squad.
Sometimes sponsorship isn’t about advertising. It’s about backing good people who are doing good things in the community. ❤️
