United Taxis Dumfries are now accepting taxi vouchers

As promised when we first started the business We can officially state United Taxis Dumfries are now accepting taxi vouchers ( if you have a taxi card please remember these are for use with McLean's only)

All our drivers from tomorrow will accept your vouchers towards your fare.

If your ever out in town and getting a taxi please please ensure if you have not pre booked your taxi ensure this is the plate the car has. Some private hire cars will try to sneak down munches street and burns statue through the night and if they stop and shout you into their car please do not be fooled. Double check the back of their car and if it's not green don't get in ( unless you have pre booked )

Just been made aware of a private hire vehicle collection customers from mucnhes street on Saturday night and charged the passenger £32 for their trip which should have been no more than around 15. If your getting a taxi the driver will give you an idea of a price before you set off. Always ensure you remember the number plate of car and the rear taxi plate as well as the driver taxi badge don't let these types of drivers out you off there are plenty honest genuine drivers out there and plenty who certainly won't rip you off like this.

It's nearly l that time of year again where town becomes very busy especially on Sunday.

If your heading out and you do get a taxi please take note of pictures below

Green : can pick anyone up on streets of Dumfries without being pre booked.

Yellow and white : within Dumfries the white plate comes under the same rules as a yellow plate and can only be pre booked. Any driver with a white plate should not be playing for business and should only get covering phone work.

Pre book where you all can and don't be left struggling to get home

United Taxis & Nixon Travel D&G taxis are currently looking for owner drivers to cover contract work if anyone is looking.

We have contract work if your interested. You must have :

Own car with valid taxi or PH plate
Valid taxi badge
Insurance of course and have a PVG number

Let us know what YOU are looking for and we WILL work with you to get what you are looking for.

We are looking for drivers to help in Stranraer and also Newton Stewart, kirkconnel and moffat

We may have other positions for school chaperones coming up if your interested please get in touch with us.

When you work with us we don't take a fortune off the money you earn with our rental currently only £20 a month ( currently saving on average £600 a month!!! )
We don't work to make profit we work to create a brand the drivers are happy with as well as our customers.
Plus your self employed so we encourage our drivers to get their own customers we don't have any rights to dictate and demand what you do for work. As long as you prioritise our bookings first , book your own jobs onto our own systems keeping things proper ok the system which means you still look after your customers and we don't over book to end up being late !
