🎄 IMPORTANT NOTICE – OFFICE CLOSURE 🎄

A little advance notice for all our customers and breakdown partners! ❤️

On Saturday 14th November, from 4pm until Sunday 15th November at 4pm, the Big Recovery office will be closed as we host our annual charity event, The Big Winter Ball, in support of our chosen local charity, Help For Kids🎅🎁

This special event gives us the opportunity to raise vital funds and awareness for an incredible local charity that does fantastic work supporting children and families throughout our community. ❤️

📅 CLOSING: Saturday 14th November at 4pm
📅 REOPENING: Sunday 15th November at 4pm

We kindly ask all our breakdown partners to share this information with the relevant departments and make any necessary arrangements to avoid disruption.

Thank you to all our customers and partners for your continued support and understanding. It means a lot to us that we can give something back to the community that supports us all year round. ❤️

🚨 LET’S HAVE AN HONEST CONVERSATION… 👇

I’ve put a video together about something that’s been on my mind for a while, and I’d genuinely like to hear what other people think.

We’re currently looking to recruit another recovery operator at Big Recovery, but it’s got me thinking about something bigger than just filling a vacancy…

Where is the next generation of motor trade workers coming from?

Growing up, there seemed to be a real passion for cars, modifying them, getting your hands dirty, learning how things worked and figuring things out for yourself. The motor trade was something people wanted to get into.

But somewhere along the line, things seem to have changed. Is it a lack of work ethic? Or have we, as an industry, failed to make these careers attractive enough for young people to want to pursue them?

Are wages, working hours, training opportunities and the cost of living putting people off? Are we expecting too much from young people, or are we simply not giving them enough reason to get involved?

I’ve got my own opinions, but I’m interested in hearing yours. 👀

👇 I WANT TO HEAR FROM:
🔧 Mechanics, recovery operators and anyone working in the motor trade.
👨‍🔧 Business owners struggling to recruit.
👨‍🎓 Young people deciding what career path to take.
👴 Anyone who remembers how things used to be.

What’s changed? Where are we going wrong? And more importantly, what needs to happen to turn things around?

I’m not looking for an argument or a reason to knock the younger generation. I want a genuine discussion, because if we want skilled trades to survive and thrive, surely we need to understand the problem before we can fix it.
