I've got a couple of tourists in the car today tracing their Scottish roots.

So far we've established they're connected to about six different clans, one clan got land from another clan, that clan married into another clan, and somewhere along the line everyone appears to be related to everyone else. 🤣

We visited the Carmichael Estate because one of their family names is Carmichael. After an hour of family history discussions, I'm beginning to suspect the only Scottish person they're not related to is me.

At this rate, by teatime they'll be claiming ownership of half the Highlands. 🏴🚖

One thing I love about the Isle of Skye is the number of honesty boxes you come across. This one has to be one of the best I've seen – eggs, tablet, homemade marmalade, cards, gifts and more, all sitting out with nothing but trust keeping things running. A small thing, but it says a lot about island life.
