Kent Construction Expo 2025 – What a Day!

The Ovenden team had a brilliant time at the Kent Construction Expo 2025 at Detling Showground! It’s always great to connect with so many people from across the construction industry — from suppliers and contractors to innovators shaping the future of our sector.

A special shoutout to our friends at Goody Demolition – always a pleasure catching up and seeing the incredible work you’re doing.

And of course, who could forget DiggerSim? The team (and a few friendly competitors!) had a blast testing their skills behind the virtual controls – it definitely brought out everyone’s inner operator!

A big thanks to everyone who stopped by to chat – we’re already looking forward to next year!

📢 Exciting Collaboration Announcement 🏞️

We’re proud to share that Ovenden Tipper Services has supplied chalk from our Kent quarry for the exhibition "Robert Smithson in Europe", opening 27 September 2025 at the Josef Albers Museum in Bottrop, Germany

Robert Smithson (1938–1973) was an American artist whose pioneering work in land art continues to inspire, even after his death.

One of his significant works, Chalk-Mirror Displacement (1969), used chalk and mirrors to explore ideas of site/non-site, materiality, reflection, and how art interacts with landscape and viewer perception.

For "Robert Smithson in Europe", we were approached by a representative of the gallery to provide material — chalk similar to that used in Chalk-Mirror Displacement. We are honoured to have been able to supply it to help realise that vision, supporting how nature and raw materials connect with artistic expression.

✨ The exhibition runs until 22 February 2026. Come and see how Smithson’s legacy lives on through material, space and imagination.
✨ Share your thoughts, visit, and reflect on how even after his passing, Smithson’s ideas continue to move, shift and provoke.
