Due to a vehicle technical issue the 0650 is running late and only running a part route, journey will commence from Rosneath at around 0740 and operate around 30 minutes late.

🚧 Road Closure – Service 316 (Ardencaple)
📅 From: 08:00, Monday 11 May
⏳ Duration: Approximately 2 weeks
Scottish Gas will be closing the junction of Cairndhu Avenue and West King Street to safely carry out a gas mains replacement.
🚍 Service 316 – Diversion Details
During the closure, Service 316 will:
•Operate the normal route as far as West King Street (Sutherland Street)
•Divert via Sutherland Street and A814 Clyde Street
•Re‑join the normal route at the junction of Cairndhu Avenue
🚏 Bus Stop Changes
❌ Bus stops not served during the closure:
•All stops on Cairndhu Avenue
•Stops on West King Street between Cairndhu Avenue and Sutherland Street
✅ Temporary bus stops provided:
•Foot of Cairndhu Avenue
•West King Street between Sutherland Street and Suffolk Street
•Served in both directions

Argyll & Bute Council are currently reviewing speed limits across the greater Helensburgh and Lomond area. These proposed changes may have a significant impact on the operation of Service 316.

🚧 REMINDER – SERVICE UPDATE / ROAD CLOSURE 🚧
Service 316 | Helensburgh – RNAD Coulport
This is a reminder that Cairndhu Avenue (between West King Street and Hood Court) will be closed from Monday 27 April until Sunday 17 May 2026 to allow Scottish Gas to carry out gas mains renewal works.
📣 Please help spread the word:
Not everyone uses Facebook, so if you have neighbours, friends, family members, or relatives who may be affected, please let them know about this closure and the service changes.
🚌 Impact on Service 316:
During the closure, Service 316 will divert via the A814 and Sutherland Street, before rejoining West King Street.
❌ We will be unable to serve the following bus stops:
• Cairndhu Avenue
• West King Street (between Cairndhu Avenue and Sutherland Street)
🚏Currently the two alternative stops are
•The A814 at Kidston Park
•West King Street at Glasgow Street
We are however going request if it is possible for the addition of a Temporary Bus Stop on the A814 round the bottom of Cairndhu Avenue.
ℹ️ We previously raised concerns with Scottish Gas regarding the impact on Ardencaple residents and the suitability of diversion routes. As no response has been received, both ourselves and Wilson's of Rhu Ltd have now escalated the matter to SPT.

Update @ 1320
We have been advised the road has reopened. All buses will resume normal route.

Service Update #316 – 12:20
Due to a vehicle fire in Clynder, the main road is operating under shuttle conditions.
As a result, we are unable to serve Clynder until the road reopens.
All journeys will operate as follows:
•Normal route to Garelochhead
•Then via the Shore Road as far as Herons View
•Over Peaton Road to Coulport
•Then via the Shore Road to Rosneath, serving Cove and Kilcreggan
These arrangements will remain in place until the road reopens

Scottish Gas have advised that Cairndhu Avenue (between West King Street and Hood Court) will be closed from Monday 27 April until Sunday 17 May 2026 to allow gas mains renewal works to take place.

🚌 What this means for Service 316:
During the closure, service 316 will divert via the A814 and Sutherland Street, before rejoining West King Street.

❌ Unfortunately, we will be unable to serve bus stops on:
• Cairndhu Avenue
• West King Street (between Cairndhu Avenue and Sutherland Street)

ℹ️ We raised concerns with Scottish Gas in early April about the impact this closure may have on residents in Ardencaple and the suitability of alternative diversion routes. To date, we have not received a response. Both ourselves and Wilson's of Rhu Ltd have now escalated the matter to SPT.

Afternoon folks 😊

Good news, we’ve now had confirmation that the road is safe to use and have been given the go-ahead to proceed, despite the signage still showing as closed.

All services are now back to normal routes with immediate effect 👍
