🚛 THIS ONE WAS A BIT OF A BEAST…

Throwback to moving some seriously chunky pieces of treatment plant from Hutchinson Drainage in Bellingham all the way down to Strensham Services on the M5.

And when we say chunky… we mean over 4 metres wide and 14 metres long. 😳 The photos probably don’t do these things justice.

There was just one small complication… despite their size, they’re actually incredibly fragile, being made from fibreglass. So, this wasn’t exactly a case of chucking them on the trailer and gunning it south south. 😂

Our MRC team handled the full job, with cranes to carefully lift the treatment plant on and off at each end, plus one of our own fully compliant es**rt vehicles providing safe passage along the route.

That’s one of the big advantages of dealing with MRC for specialist transport and abnormal load haulage.

We now have three fully compliant es**rt vehicles in-house, meaning there’s no need to outsource that part of the job.

Everything can be handled by one team, from loading and crane work to es**rting and safely transporting the load to its destination.

Heavy? Awkward? Fragile? Or just about the size of a house? 😂

Now that’s what you call an unusual load!

This week we had the privilege of transporting a 4-metre section of an A320 fuselage from Oshkosh Corporation in Bridgend to London Heathrow Airport.

The fuselage section was transported in a specially designed cradle, allowing it to be safely moved around and used as a training aid for ground staff.

A big thank you to Nathan from MRC Crane Hire for his expert driving skills, and to Mike from MRC for providing the es**rt.

The job was completed safely, professionally and on time, exactly what you’d expect from Martyn Soames Transport Solutions.

A huge thank you to Oshkosh for trusting us with this unique and challenging job.

Don’t let the size fool you… this little red machine packs a serious punch. 🚜

Meet the Weidemann T4512 telehandler - basically the Swiss Army knife of the MRC fleet.

With attachments including buckets, bucket brush, forks, lifting boom, access basket and even a log grab… it fits into tight spaces on site, loads onto very small trailers, and it’s got every attachment you'd need (apart from one that makes a good brew... we’re still working on that 😄).

With a 1.25-tonne lifting capacity and the ability to lift 0.24 tonnes at full 1.5m reach, this compact machine is built for a huge range of stacking, loading, moving and handling tasks.

NEW MACHINERY! 🔥

Meet the latest addition to the MRC fleet… the KÄSSBOHRER low loader, complete with a lift-up neck, 4.2m flip-toe ramps and a powerful 10-tonne winch.

This versatile beast is designed to handle the awkward, the oversized and the "that'll never fit on there" machinery with ease, particularly low ground clearance equipment.

We bought this one for some new work with a valued customer, but we're already finding ourselves standing around it like proud dads at a school sports day. 😄

As with all new toys, we're eagerly looking for excuses to use it... fortunately, this one won't be short of work!
