With the introduction of the new Entry/Exit System (EES) for travellers entering many European countries, there has been some confusion about airport arrival times.
At E Travel UK, we want to reassure our customers that there is currently no requirement to arrive any earlier than your airline’s recommended check-in time when departing from a UK airport.
The EES process takes place when you enter participating European countries and is designed to improve border security through the digital recording of passport and biometric information.
As always, we recommend checking the latest guidance from your airline and destination country before travelling, but there is no need to factor in extra time at UK departure airports specifically because of EES.
