✈️ Moving an aircraft engine is rarely just about the transport 🚚
This recent movement for one of our airline customers is a great example of what end-to-end aviation logistics really looks like.
The requirement was to move an aircraft engine from the USA to the UK. On paper, two countries and one engine. In reality, there were multiple critical stages, specialist teams and different modes of transport that all had to come together.
🇺🇸 It started in the USA, where we arranged collection of the engine and transport to the departure airport. On arrival, we had already coordinated a crane and lifting operation to safely offload the engine.
🔧 Before it could fly, there was another important step. We arranged for a specialist engineer to attend and rotate the engine into its required air transport configuration, ensuring it was correctly prepared for the next stage of its journey.
✈️ From there, the engine was flown from the USA to Luxembourg.
🇱🇺 Once on the ground in LUX, the process effectively reversed. We coordinated another specialist engineer to attend and refit the shock absorbers, preparing the engine for safe onward transportation by road.
🚛 Finally, the engine was loaded onto a specialist low-loader and transported from Luxembourg into the UK for final delivery.
One engine. Three countries. Air and road transport. Crane operations. Specialist engineering support. Multiple handovers. One team coordinating the entire journey from collection through to delivery.
For us, that’s what aviation logistics is really about. Not simply finding a vehicle or booking a flight, but understanding everything that needs to happen around the cargo to make the movement possible.
