Recently, I’ve had an increased amount of bookings for compliance audits. This has been due to either: being instructed to have one by the Office of the Traffic Commissioner following a public inquiry, needing one to support an application to increase the Operator Licence or simply wanting to see how they would fare if the DVSA were to walk through the door.

One of the perks of this job is getting out and about seeing clients. I’ve had a nice morning in the Forest of Dean today, helping a client prepare for their annual Mission Zero audit.

As the Mission Zero audit is accepted by Traffic Commissioners as a compliance audit, not only is the operator satisfying their contractual requirements for Tarmac, but they are ensuring that their operation is compliant.

I really think all hauliers should have at least an annual compliance audit of some kind, to make sure they are up to date and operating in line with the requirements of the Traffic Commissioner.

While I enjoy getting out and about most days, it’s nice to have a relaxed day working from home.

Today work involves catching up on admin, checking inspection sheets, checking OCRS reports, driving licence checks, preparing for upcoming FORS bronze audits, submitting a FORS Silver application and preparing for a compliance audit I’m conducting in Bristol tomorrow.

Just need to find the time to get the dogs out before the school run.
