We’re still looking for the right person – could it be you?

Adam Tait Haulage Ltd is a long-established, family-run haulage company based in Kilwinning, Ayrshire, and we’re looking for an experienced HGV / Commercial Vehicle Mechanic to help maintain our fleet.

⭐ NO SET HOURS – GENUINELY FLEXIBLE ⭐

We can work around the right person. Work can be carried out weekdays, weekends or a mixture of both, making this a great opportunity for someone who wants regular mechanical work without being tied to traditional workshop hours.

We’re more interested in finding someone who is experienced, reliable and takes pride in their work than dictating when they have to work.

🔧 Servicing, maintenance & repairs
🚛 Working on our own HGV fleet
🛠️ Fault finding & diagnostics
📋 Preventative maintenance
📅 Weekdays and/or weekends
⏰ No set hours – flexible arrangement
💷 Competitive rate – negotiable depending on experience
🤝 Regular, long-term work for the right person
📍 Kilwinning, Ayrshire

This could suit an experienced HGV mechanic looking for additional regular work, someone who is self-employed, or someone who simply wants more flexibility around their other commitments.

Reading posts like this makes all the hard work worthwhile.

🚛 HGV MECHANIC WANTED – BEFORE WE LOSE THE PLOT 🔧😂. STILL ON THE HUNT 👀

Right… let’s not mess about…

Our trucks are starting to develop “personalities”…
and not the good kind 😅

So we’re looking for someone who knows their way around an HGV and can keep things running without turning it into a drama every week 👀

🔧 What you’ll be doing:

• Fixing things that definitely worked yesterday
• Servicing trucks so they don’t fall apart at the worst possible time
• Keep us right for MOTs
• Brakes, suspension, steering and all the usual headaches
• Tell us when something’s about to cost us money (we won’t like it, but we need to hear it)
• Listening to drivers say “it’s just started making that noise…”

💰 What you’ll get:

• £18 – £24 per hour depending on experience
• Flexible hours – part-time, full-time, evenings, weekends
• Family-run business – no suits, no nonsense
• Plenty of variety (and the odd bit of chaos)

👀 We need someone who:

✔ Knows HGVs inside out
✔ Can work on their own without being babysat
✔ Actually turns up (rare these days 😅)
✔ Can laugh when things don’t go to plan

HGV licence = bonus, not essential

💡 Perfect if you:

• Already work in a garage and want extra hours
• Are self-employed
• Are semi-retired but still like keeping busy
• Are sick of dealership life and fancy something more relaxed
