I LOVE a spicy Shetland šŸŒ¶ļø thankfully, Tinkerbell only put up the tiniest of fights before popping up into the lorry and travelling perfectly to her new home

The beautiful Delilah took her first ever long journey today. I stopped videoing too soon, but this baby horse walked straight up into the lorry, travelled loose and munched her hay net like she’d done it everyday of her life!

It makes such a difference when breeders and owners can handle their young horses and teach them to be confident in new situations.

She was an absolute pleasure to transport and her lovely new owners made my day too🄰🩶

This isn’t something I would normally post on my business page. But horse care and welfare is so important to me anyway. This was Beef (my own horse) about two weeks ago. He’d dramatically dropped weight, was really lethargic and quiet in himself, when usually he’s quite blood and expressive for a big horse.

Turns out, he’s tested quite high for encysted redworm, which in turn led to ulcers.

A worm programme and a course of omeprazole, and this is him just two weeks later.

I am fastidious about worm counts, good feed, plenty of turn out, lots of good quality forage, a comprehensive workout plan. So for him to lose condition so quickly, really scared me.

I can only now share my experience, and recommend blood testing when you worm count. He is back to his cheeky, happy self and I am so relieved!
