Another interesting day in the life of your roving cab driver. Another early start after a later than hoped for Luton last night with some regular flyers. Lots of places including a first for me; dropping off and assisting a lovely gent into the Cambridge Prosthetic Centre. Then an urgent cover job which necessitated lunch on the road.... well, it's nearly fish and chips Friday!
And now that's it for me for a few days. Thursday night is quiz night then it's some
domestic tasks tomorrow followed by a little weekend treat.... More of which next week.
Have a good one everyone.

As a change to endless airport and hospital photos, I thought I'd share some of the sights I've encountered over the past couple of days on my various travels.
Many a pot hole, no end of road closures, weak bridges on diversions, beautiful early blooming daffs, snowdrops, a rainbow...... So many lovely and not so lovely sights. All in a day's work, however.
Enjoy.

For legal reasons I'm not allowed to say where I spent my morning: suffice to say that I attended a corrective and instructive course aimed at drivers who may have erred on the highways!
And with all that freshly gained information I had an incident free journey to terminal 5, all fully within our national speed limits!
As you can see, a nice quiet Heathrow T5 this afternoon, although I'm sure this won't translate to the M25.
Happy Monday everyone

All kinds of everything today.
Another trip to Addenbrooke's via Magdalen and Watlington - both lovely villages - then home to run the old jalopy to Sisco for a diagnosis. Luckily the prognosis is good and not too costly either. Phew!
After that, some quality time wearing the kids out and home to a freshly made home baked loaf.
Have a cracking weekend one and all.
More insights next week. TTFN

A hobbit day today, as in I went there and back again. 2 visits to Addenbrooke's but with time in between for a cheeky coffee date at Scotsdales. It's a hard job but someone has to do it.

Another day in the countryside today with a trip to and from the N&N Radiology suite.
Saw this fabulous round church tower on the way. What an excellent day in the office!
Back in time to see the sun go over the yard arm and as tomorrow I shall be a lady that lunches, a small libation was in order tonight.
Chin, chin

A day of rural destinations and aspirational speed goals yesterday.
Caught up with a lovely lady I'd not seen for a while - a globe trotting high flier in her day - then caught in traffic on the way to see the joys of my life in the form of my grandkids. Ain't no traffic bad enough, ain't no roadworks long enough, to keep me from them!

A very quiet Heathrow Terminal 3 this morning for my pick up. Business traveller back on the red eye from her networking and leadership building trip.
Not a bad start for a Friday.... A clear M1/M25 for a change..... thank goodness it wasn't an afternoon arrival as I think the roads would have been vastly different.
Ready for the weekend now. Let's see what that has in store.

A non driving day today; rather a chance to catch up with an old accounting client and offer what words of advice I can still remember from that previous life 😂🤔
So great to help Nicole Vincent on her next step as the director of Aware Promotional.
I shall certainly be placing an order for some MPV branded goods.
If your business needs to get recognised, get onto Aware for your publicity merch. Great service and competitive pricing.

No climbing every mountain but certainly had to ford this stream yesterday to make it to my destination. Even Julie Andrews would have struggled. What a day of rain it was!
However, destinations were reached and passengers safely conveyed, so another successful day of work completed.
No lounging for me but a dinner date when I got back to base was very welcome. Thanks M & A.

Afternoon all!
Long time no post, I hear you say.
In all honesty the start of 2026 has been much of the same as the end of 2025 - airports, hospitals, Lounges, motorways, traffic jams, soup making and even a cheeky cottage weekend. Point of note is that I reached my 35 lounges visited goal and am now awaiting my reward in the post. Photos will follow, obv!
Today sees a run out to Cromer and District hospital (my first visit) but way too cold to partake of a stroll along the prom, prom, prom for sure.
So I attach a selection of photos showing some of my lounges, an airport arrivals hall, Boscastle loveliness and others for your delectation.
Welcome 2026....here we go!

One of many reasons that I will no longer be going to Gatwick.
£10 for a ten minutes stay in the drop off zone is akin to daylight robbery.
I dare say that the other airports will follow suit which I'm sorry to say will almost definitely mean price increases to my fares.

Drop-off fees will rise from £7 to £10 at the West Sussex airport from 6 January.
