Based on the Nottinghamshire & Lincolnshire border Marshalls of Sutton on Trent is a family run bus and coach operator with great transport links across the East Midlands and beyond.

Due to some poor parking on Main Street in Sutton on Trent, buses may need to divert without being able to notify and use Palmer Road, therefore missing High Street. We apologize if this causes you an inconvenience. We will, as always, do the best we can

Please be aware that from tomorrow, Tuesday 1st September, revised fares will be in operation across most of our network.

With increasing costs such as fuel, insurance and employers national insurance payments we have fought hard to keep these rises to a minimum, typically between 10 and 20p per fare.

The £3 fare cap is still in operation on services 37, 38 & 77 however the free child ticket scheme funded by the government and EMCCA has now ended.

Fares in services 95, 730, 731 & 967 will remain unchanged.

Friday, 28th August

We are currently unable to run our service 77 Hawtonville circular service due to extremly heavy traffic around town and across our network. We will be trying to resume this service as soon as possible. Any updates will be posted here.

Diversion: Service 38 from Tuesday 1st to Tuesday 22nd September 2026.

Further to yesterdays post, we have been unable to gain any further information regarding the closure of Grassthorpe Road in Sutton on Trent which will be closed daily between 09:00 and 16:00 on the above dates.

Therefore we are going to have to implement the following diversions during the closure periods:

Journeys towards Retford; will operate as normal as far as High Street, Sutton on Trent, the service will then divert via Stone Road End to Normanton on Trent (running the opposite direction through the village to normal), then to Marnham Crossroads before travelling to Tuxford via Polly Taylor's Road/Marnham Road. The bus will then travel directly along Lincoln Road to the Sun Inn and NOT call at Nicholas Place (Medical Centre)

Journeys towards Newark; will operate in the reverse direction of the above.

Please be aware that during these diversions the following bus stops WILL NOT be served by service 38:
Crow Park Avenue, Sutton on Sutton on Trent
Grassthorpe (all bus stops)
West Junction (Ash Vale)
Linden Avenue, Maple Close & Nicholas Place (Tuxford)

Please note that service 37 will be operating as normal to all stops.

The 07:30 & 17:20 journeys to Newark and the 15:55 & 18:15 journeys to Retford should also be able to operate their normal route.

We are seeing major traffic build up in and around Newark, this is causing delays to our services 37 & 38 getting into the town, which in turn is impacting our ability to operate the 77 to Hawtonville.

Please bear with us, if the situation doesn't improve shortly we will attempt to deploy extra resources to operate the 77.

We are aware of major roadworks between Sutton on Trent and Grassthorpe scheduled to start next week, which will affect our service 38.

We are currently engaging with the works contractor to see what access (if any) we can gain to limit the disruption to our services, as soon as we have any further information we will let you know!
