Monday started with a very early one to get to Wales to pick this boy up. I don't mind being given directions 'drive to the top of the mountain' when the views are this good!
It was a slower than expected run back due to an accident on the M4 but 'Eddie' was very settled and travelled well.
I saw him into his stable & before setting off for home I was presented with lunch which was a lovely surprise and very much needed & hugely appreciated!
I wish Carolyn the best of luck with Eddie! 🐴 🚛

Another last minute job this evening to help someone with an emergency yard move.

This morning was a last minute job (due to the lady being let down by another transporter) from Wokingham to the Surrey Hills with a lovely young Spanish mare who had never travelled before. She loaded well with a bit of food incentive & travelled loose as it was her first time. She travelled really well & had a nice first experience, so when it comes to travel her again, it shouldn't be stressful.
Then this afternoon was an emergency breakdown for Prp Rescue Services Limited which was fairly local. A lovely mare who was happy to re-load onto my box in the pub car park so we could get her home safe. A satisfying end to the week! 😊 🐴 🚛

A very happy mare back to her owner after being out on loan for 3 weeks. Sometimes some yards just don't suit some horses, which was the case here. This lovely mare Kentucky was very stressed in this environment & became quite dangerous to try to load (she was very claustrophobic & panicky once on board). We decided in this situation it was best to use some sedalin & wait until it had taken effect before re-loading. Patience and perseverance meant we got her loaded and safely back to her home.

Another satisfying day 😊 🐴 🚚

Busy weekend dropping the cutest little mini-cob up to a new home in Yorkshire, then back with a sweer connie to his new trial home. Both journeys were rearranged from original times to beat the heat with early starts which paid off. Both ponies arrived cool as a cucumber with the help of the fan. Damp hay was in order also, to help with water intake.

I took the opportunity to stop at Whittaker coachbuilders to collect some bits for the lorry while I was in that direction. Thank-you to Jordan & her outstanding customer service as always!

Just when I thought the weekend was over...... Sunday early evening meant an emergency breakdown call out, to pick up two polo ponies stranded in Ascot High Street & take them home to near Cheltenham. Unfortunately these two had to cope with the heat of the day as it was an emergency but they travelled well.
This week it's been two more trips with polo ponies, again both lots of people worked things around so I could do early pick-ups.
Lovely bunch of people and horses. Nice to see some lovely parts of the country too! 😊 🐴 🚛

The week started with a collection from Valley Equine Hospital this morning. This lovely big lad was heading back home after a short stint at the vets.
He looked very happy to be home!
I wish him a speedy recovery. Another rewarding job 😊 🐴 🚚

This stunner went to his new home in Lutterworth this morning. Despite being an early start, he loaded with no hesitatrion. He travelled like a dream, tucking into his hay & very relaxed. He just got a bit fidgety the last 20 minutes, but he's only young so he can be forgiven! 🐴 🚚

A run to Newdigate Surrey to pick up this guy & head back to Didcot this morning.
He's known to have not travelled well in the past, so having spoke to the previous & new owners, we came up with a plan. He was also quite attached to another pony who hes been with for the last 5 years, which was an added factor.
A touch of sedalin for both ponies was the decision made for a smooth, safe outcome.

He travelled really well, just a bit unbalanced when he had to shift his weight, so we took the corners and roundabouts super slow.
Happy Pony, good travelling experience under his belt and some very happy new owners! 😊 🐴 🚚
