⚠️ 315 BUS SERVICE DISRUPTION – ROADWORKS

Argyll & Bute Council have started road surfacing on the route of the 315 service at Kirkmichael & Churchill with no prior notification to us. More temporary traffic lights have also appeared at works in the town centre.

This bus passes these works 60 times every day. With roadworks continuing throughout this week, we’re expecting delays and disruption for passengers.

Depending on how severe the delays become, there is also a possibility that some journeys may have to be missed to allow the service to get back on schedule. Obviously, this is something we want to avoid wherever possible, but prolonged delays can have a knock-on effect throughout the entire day's timetable.

We appreciate your patience and understanding while this is ongoing. We’ll do everything we can to keep the 315 running as normally as possible, but please allow extra time for your journey this week.

We’re disappointed that no advance notification was provided, particularly given the frequency of the 315 service along this route and the potential impact on passengers.
We’ll keep you updated if the situation changes. 🚌

Once again, unmanned temporary traffic lights have appeared outside Rhu causing substantial delays. The 1700hrs bus from Garelochhead is still stuck in traffic and will delay the 1730hrs journey from Helensburgh

🚌 Local Bus Service Disruption

Despite our concerns and objections, which were raised with the assistance of a number of local councillors, Argyll & Bute Council has decided to close West King Street between James Street and Sinclair Street from Monday 14th until Friday 18th September.

We anticipate that this closure will cause significant disruption to local bus services, particularly as Clyde Street is also closed, leaving Princes Street as the only main route through the town.

We are particularly concerned about the impact on our 315 service, which passes through Princes Street 60 times each day. The additional traffic and congestion is likely to make it extremely difficult to maintain scheduled journey times.

Ultimately, we will need to assess the situation as it develops. However, passengers should be aware that journeys may have to be cancelled if delays become so severe that we are unable to maintain the timetable safely and reliably.

We appreciate passengers’ patience and understanding during this period and will provide updates as the situation develops.

Just a wee top up. That should last it until the end of the week as it’s not going far 🤦‍♂️

316 Service Bus Users.

You will be pleased to hear that we have signed up the the Scottish Government’s £2 fare cap scheme which was announced earlier this week and covers the Strathclyde region from Monday 7 September 2026.

What does this mean for you?
Any single fare purchased which is currently over £2 will cost £2 from Monday.
You just need to tell the driver your destination as usual and the ticket machine will calculate a £2 fare.

The £2 Fare Cap forms part of an interim Scottish Government-funded fare scheme and is subject to the terms, conditions, and duration determined by the Scottish Government.

Thank you for travelling with us and we hope you enjoy the reduced fares.

We have lost property in the office belonging to Amelia Slavin

24/08/2026

From Sunday 30th August, a fare increase will apply to our 315 and 316 services.

Over the past 18 months or so, we have absorbed significant increases in our operating costs, including higher National Insurance contributions, substantial fuel price increases, staff wage increases, and rising maintenance and general overhead costs. Unfortunately, these increases are no longer sustainable for us to absorb in full.

315 service:
• Standard fares will increase by 10p
• Other fares will increase by approximately 6%

316 service:
• All fares will increase by approximately 6%

We appreciate that any fare increase is unwelcome, and we have not taken this decision lightly. However, this adjustment is necessary to help us continue providing the reliable, safe and dependable bus services that our customers rely on.

Thank you for your continued support and understanding. 🚌
