WE FEEL IT'S TIME TO ADDRESS A FEW THINGS!

We've seen and heard a few comments recently regarding taxi fares increasing slightly, so we thought we'd take a moment to explain the reality of running a small taxi business.

We completely understand that money is tight for everyone. But unfortunately, the rising cost of living doesn't just affect households it affects small businesses too!

💷 Let's put a few things into perspective…

⛽ Fuel: Currently costing us around £2 per litre, compared with approximately £1.30–£1.40 last year. That's a massive increase when you're running vehicles every single day!

🔧 Maintenance: Servicing, repairs and tyres have all increased. Our vehicle servicing costs alone have risen by around 40%, partly due to the rising cost of oil!

📋 Licensing & Insurance: Insurance premiums continue to rise, while New Forest District Council keeps increasing licensing fees and introducing vehicle requirements that come at a significant cost to operators.

🚕 Vehicles: They need maintaining, repairing, replacing and keeping safe and roadworthy, regardless of how many bookings we have.

And remember, that's before we've even paid our drivers or made a penny ourselves!

We often hear the familiar comment…

💬 "Well, another taxi company can do it cheaper!"

And that's absolutely fine! We completely respect everyone's right to shop around.

But please remember, we're a small, family-run business, not a massive company with hundreds of vehicles or unlimited resources.

We pride ourselves on offering more than simply taking someone from A to B.

Sometimes those little extras take more time, but that's what makes our service different.

Now, think about your own household bills…

🛒 Your weekly shopping has increased.

⚡ Your gas and electricity have increased.

🏠 Almost everything you pay for has gone up!

So why is it such a surprise when a taxi company needs to increase its fares slightly too?

We're not putting prices up because we want to. We're doing it because, quite simply, we have to.

We've absorbed rising costs wherever possible, but there comes a point where continuing to do so simply isn't sustainable.

We have families to support, bills to pay and a business to keep running, just like everyone else.

We're certainly not getting rich from running taxis, despite what some people might think! 😂

We know we won't always be the cheapest, and that's okay. We would rather provide a safe, caring and dependable service at a fair price than cut corners just to be the cheapest.

All we ask is for a little understanding before criticising small businesses for increasing their prices.

🎄 Christmas & New Year Opening Hours – CAC Ringwood 🎄

We would like to wish all our customers a very Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year.

With Christmas upon us, and after a year of hard work by our amazing team and the incredible support from you all, we have made the decision to take some well-deserved time to be with our families and recharge, ready for the New Year and the exciting new things coming to CAC Ringwood.

Our opening hours over the festive period are as follows:

* Wednesday 24/12: 8am till 5pm

* Thursday 25/12 – Sunday 28/12: **CLOSED**
