WS Specialist Logistics is recruiting an experienced Transport Planner to join our Flatbed Division, responsible for coordinating the nationwide movement of construction equipment across the United Kingdom.
Transport Planner – Flatbed Division
Location: BT94 2FH, Enniskillen
Salary: £30,000 – £35,000 (DOE)
Hours: TBC
This role plays a key part in ensuring the efficient and compliant operation of a specialist logistics service. Working closely with drivers, customers, and internal teams, the successful candidate will plan and manage flatbed transport movements, ensuring deliveries are completed safely, on time, and in accordance with UK transport regulations.
The ideal candidate will have a solid background in transport planning, preferably within flatbed, construction, or specialist haulage environments. A strong understanding of HGV operations, driver hours legislation, and UK route planning is essential.
Key Responsibilities
🔹 Plan and schedule the transport of vehicle carriers and heavy plant machinery across the UK
🔹 Coordinate daily operations with drivers, customers, and third-party suppliers
🔹 Monitor live transport activity and make adjustments to schedules where required
🔹 Ensure full compliance with UK transport legislation, including driver hours and safety standards
🔹 Maintain accurate operational records using transport management systems
Candidate Requirements
🔹 Proven experience in transport planning or logistics coordination
🔹 Previous flatbed, construction, or specialist haulage experience is advantageous
🔹 Strong understanding of HGV operations and plant machinery movements
🔹 Good knowledge of UK transport regulations and geographical routing
🔹 Excellent communication, organisation, and problem-solving skills
🔹 Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced operational environment
🔹 Experience with transport planning software is desirable
