Lost Handbag Found – Bishops Castle

Community College Bishops Castle has informed us that a small black leather handbag was left at the bus stop in Bishops Castle and has been handed in to them.

There was no ID inside, but if you think it may be yours, please contact or visit the school reception to arrange collection.

435 Service possible disruption due to ongoing works in Craven Arms.

⚠️Travel update - A49 Craven Arms⚠️

Due to unforeseen circumstances, our maintenance work on the A49 is taking longer than expected.

We appreciate the congestion this is causing for road users, and we’re sorry for the disruption to journeys. Safety remains our priority so temporary traffic management will need to stay in place until the work is completed.

Our teams are working hard to carry out the remaining activities and we’ll reopen the road as soon as possible.

435 Service Update – Tuesday 16th June

Despite earlier assurances from National Highways that delays would improve today, we are again experiencing severe congestion at the temporary three‑way traffic lights in Craven Arms.

One of our buses has been stuck in the queue for over 20 minutes, and in order to remain legally compliant with drivers’ hours, the following journeys will not operate:

• 12:20 Ludlow → Shrewsbury
• 13:30 Shrewsbury → Ludlow

We have contacted National Highways again regarding the ongoing disruption.

We apologise to all passengers affected and thank you for your continued patience.

UPDATE: 435 Service Update – Tuesday 16 June

Despite earlier assurances from National Highways that delays would improve today, we are again experiencing severe congestion at the temporary three‑way traffic lights in Craven Arms.

435 Service Update – Tuesday 16th June

Following discussions with National Highways regarding the temporary three-way traffic lights in Craven Arms, we have been advised that the traffic management arrangements have been reviewed following yesterday's severe delays.

The lights will be under manual control today to help improve traffic flow on the A49, and National Highways have instructed their contractors to take whatever measures are necessary to reduce disruption. We have also been advised that the works are progressing well and may be completed earlier than planned.

At present, we do not anticipate any significant disruption to the 435 service today.

We would like to thank our passengers for their patience and understanding following yesterday's disruption.

Service Update – 435 Bus Route

Due to ongoing severe delays caused by temporary three-way traffic lights in Craven Arms, the following service alterations will apply today:

The 14:30 service from Shrewsbury to Ludlow will not operate.
The 15:55 service from Ludlow to Shrewsbury will not depart from Ludlow. Instead, it will start from Craven Arms at 16:10 and continue to Shrewsbury.

As of 13:45, the vehicle scheduled to operate these journeys remains heavily delayed in Craven Arms. Once the driver arrives in Shrewsbury, they will be required to take their legally mandated rest break. Unfortunately, this means there will not be sufficient time to operate the 14:30 departure to Ludlow and from the 15:55 to commence from Ludlow.

We understand this disruption may affect your travel plans and sincerely apologise for the inconvenience caused. Thank you for your patience and understanding.

Service Update – 435 Bus Route

Due to temporary three-way traffic lights in Craven Arms, the 435 service is currently experiencing significant delays heading towards Shrewsbury. This is resulting in heavy congestion and tailbacks to near Onibury.

We advise passengers to allow extra journey time and apologise for any inconvenience caused.

⚠️ Service Update – Route 435

Unfortunately, Severn Trent has closed the road at Wistanstow, meaning we are unable to serve the village, including Bushmoor, for the remainder of today and throughout tomorrow.

We apologise for the inconvenience and will provide further updates as soon as we receive confirmation that the road has reopened.

BISHOPS CASTLE – ROADWORKS UPDATE

Due to the ongoing traffic issues and congestion in the town centre, buses will now terminate and start from Bishops Castle High School until further notice.

Unfortunately, the current traffic arrangements are causing too much disruption for buses to operate through the town as normal.

Please make sure you use the High School stop for all bus services until further notice.

Bishops Castle Bus Stop Update

The bus stop opposite the Boars Head has been temporarily suspended.

Contractors will be installing a temporary bus stop outside the Six Bells pub and will place a suspension notice at the usual stop opposite the Boars Head.

The works are expected to be completed on 9th June, subject to progress on site.

Please use the temporary stop outside the Six Bells while the suspension is in place.

🚍 Service Update – Route 435

Due to the closure of Station Road, the 435 service is unable to serve Ryton today.

Condover will continue to be served as normal.
