❤️ UPDATE — GEORGINA HAS BEEN FOUND! ❤️

Thank you to everyone who shared, commented, tagged friends and helped spread the word.

We found her!

I'll update you all properly once Ms J's thanks have reached Georgina, but for now, a huge thank you to everyone in Shrivenham, Swindon and the wider GWH community who helped.

What an amazing response. ❤️

Can anyone who works at GWH, or knows someone who does, help with this please? We're trying to find a nurse called Georgina so a very grateful former patient can thank her. 🙏

A SMALL THANK YOU FOR SOMETHING MUCH BIGGER ❤️

Last week I had the genuine privilege of passing on a very special thank you.

On 25 June, an American customer who I'll call Ms J became seriously ill while visiting the UK and was admitted to Great Western Hospital in Swindon, where she needed emergency surgery.

Thankfully, she received wonderful care and is now safely back home in the United States.

But she hasn't forgotten the people who looked after her.

Ms J asked me if I could help pass on her thanks to some of the people involved in her care, including the team on Meldon Ward, where she recovered.

So last week I had the pleasure of delivering flowers on her behalf to some of the lovely Meldon Ward team pictured here. 💐

What struck me was that Ms J didn't just want to thank the doctors and nurses directly involved in saving her life.

She wanted her thanks passed on to everyone who played a part in her care — the nurses, healthcare assistants, porters, cleaners, reception staff, Brighter Futures GWH Great Western Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust volunteers and the many people working behind the scenes at GWH.

It was a real privilege to pass that message on.

But there's one person we still haven't managed to find...

Nurse Georgina.

Ms J particularly remembers Georgina for the kindness and care she showed her around the time of her surgery and afterwards.

I've asked at the departments involved and have now contacted the GWH PALS team to see if they can help identify her.

But perhaps Facebook can help too.

If you work at GWH, or know somebody who does, could you please share this with them?

We're not looking for any personal information about Georgina. We'd simply like this message to reach her so that Ms J can finally pass on her thanks.

And to everyone at Great Western Hospital who helped care for a visitor who suddenly found herself seriously ill and a long way from home —

💡 The Wayland Start-Up Fund is making progress...

Many of you will know that Wayland Private Hire donates £1 from every journey to the Wayland Start-Up Fund, helping local young people take their first steps into business.

That commitment is ongoing and will continue as normal.

However, between now and the end of August, I will also be donating an additional £1 from every journey that I personally undertake to support my daughter Laurel's fundraising challenge for Arthritis UK.

Last year, Laurel was diagnosed with Psoriatic Arthritis. Having previously run three marathons in a year, she suddenly found herself struggling to walk due to a condition that causes painful inflammation of the joints.

Rather than letting it define her, Laurel and three friends have signed up to cycle from London to Paris this September to raise money for Arthritis UK, a charity supporting millions of people living with arthritis and funding research into better treatments and, hopefully one day, a cure.

So, for every journey I personally undertake between now and 31st August:

✅ £1 will continue to go to the Wayland Start-Up Fund (as it always does)

✅ An additional £1 will be donated to Laurel's Arthritis UK appeal

If you are travelling with me this summer, you'll be supporting both causes at no extra cost to yourself.

If any of my followers would also like to make a small donation directly to Laurel's appeal, no matter how modest, please let me know and I will send you the link. It would be very much appreciated.
