The IQ in the J2B minibus was significantly raised this morning 🤓⬆️ with a couple of neuroscientist sisters👩🏼‍⚕️👩🏼‍⚕️on board with their partners, all safely dropped off at Birmingham Airport ✈️ ready to jet off to Crete! 🇬🇷☀️

🌧️💨 Bit of a wet and windy journey over… but job done! ✅

Now it’s back to New Image Gym Sleaford for just what the doctor ordered for me… an early morning workout! 💪🏋️‍♂️

✈️ HELLO SEPTEMBER! 🍂🚕

First things first, Happy September to all our lovely J2B Taxi customers! 🙌

Seriously though… where is this year going?! 🙈 I’m sure it was January about three weeks ago! 😂

September is officially FULLY BOOKED at J2B Taxi. The diary is absolutely chocker with airport transfers ✈️🧳 — Heathrow Airport, London Gatwick, East Midlands Airport, Manchester Airport and everything in between!

That said… there might still be a sneaky way in. 👀🥷

If your journey fits nicely before, after or alongside an existing airport transfer, I’ll see if I can work a bit of J2B magic and squeeze you in. 🪄🚕

Basically, September’s diary is one massive game of Tetris at this point, tighter than a Ryanair baggage sizer! 🧳😂

As always, WhatsApp or text is best. Voicemails and smoke signals will be ignored. 📲🚭

🌙🚐 Saturday night shift… J2B Taxi style!

No beers, no takeaway and definitely no Saturday night telly for me tonight… it’s a night shift in the minibus! 😂

✈️ First customers landing at East Midlands Airport at 20:00
😴Hopefully grab a few hours’ kip in between on the sofa 🛋️
✈️ Then back to East Midlands with the next customers pick up at 01:45 😱

All being well, I should be rolling back into J2B HQ 🏡 at around 04:45… just in time to hear the birds singing and wonder why I chose this career! 😂🐦‍⬛🌅

It’s going to be a long one… ☕️🚐💨

😂 MASSIVE FOMO THIS MORNING…

Early start this morning for the J2B Minibus — down to Gatwick, then into my regular haunt of Tesco Extra for the obligatory Greggs coffee ☕️ and whatever random list of “bits” Mrs J2B has sent me for…. 📋

Walked in to find THIS queue for the Pokémon counter… 😳👇🚶‍♂️🚶‍♂️🚶‍♂️🚶‍♀️🚶‍♀️🚶‍♀️🚶🚶

Apparently, there’s actually a big Pokémon card drop happening at Tesco today, so these people clearly know something I don’t!

Now I’ve got absolutely no interest in Pokémon cards whatsoever……but seeing a queue like that has given me massive FOMO. 😂

Do I need to get in it? Am I about to miss out on my retirement fund? Is there a Pikachu in there worth more than the minibus?! 😂

Someone who understands Pokémon please tell me what’s going on before I join the queue and spend £100 on bits of cardboard. 🤦‍♂️😂

📅 Wednesday night – Boston United Academy Vs Coningsby FC Page ❤️

📅 Friday night – Horncastle Vets Vs Sleaford Town Veterans 💚

📅 Saturday – Billinghay 1st Team Vs Coningsby 1st Team

📅 Sunday – North Kyme FC Vs Manor Farm (rest day… 😅🥱)

North Kyme continue quite possibly the longest pre-season in football history, after the Lincoln & District Sunday Football League decided October would be a perfectly sensible time to actually start the season. 🤦‍♂️😂 By the time the league kicks off we’ll either be absolutely flying… or ready for the Christmas break. 🎄⚽️

🍬🚕 Things you never expect when becoming a taxi driver… 🧐

Apparently, somewhere along the way, I’ve become a Mint Imperial connoisseur. 👨🏻‍🍳

Almost 4 years of airport runs, early starts and service-station stops means I’ve now sampled pretty much the full spectrum…

Aldi – Solid everyday mint. Cheap, dependable, gets the job done. The Ford Mondeo of Mint Imperials. 7/10

Lidl – Very similar. Slightly more aggressive crunch. Occasionally feels like you’re testing your fillings. 7/10

Tesco – The reliable middle ground. Not trying to reinvent the mint, but always there when you need one. The Toyota Corolla of Mint Imperials: sensible, dependable and somehow always in the glovebox. 8/10

M&S – Now we’re getting serious. Refined. Smooth. Probably educated privately. The sort of mint that arrives in a linen suit and quietly judges the rest of the packet. 9/10

Waitrose – The Range Rover of Mint Imperials. You don’t eat one… you experience it. Probably made from hand-picked mint leaves and the tears of lesser supermarkets. 9.5/10

At this point I don’t even particularly like Mint Imperials anymore. I just feel I’ve invested too much time in the research to stop.

🚕 Feeling like a bit of a fraud today… 😂

Two airport runs done today and both families are good friends.

So basically I’ve spent the day driving around for 2–3 hours at a time, chewing the fat, putting the world to rights, having a proper catch-up…

…and then when we arrive, I have the absolute cheek to charge them for it. 🤑😂💷

It almost doesn’t feel like work….

Almost.

And before anyone asks…

No, there were DEFINITELY no mates’ rates. 🤣🤣

Since getting back from holiday, the J2B minibus has barely stopped! 😂😅

✈️ London Gatwick
✈️ Heathrow Airport
✈️ Manchester Airport
✈️ London Stansted Airport
✈️ East Midlands Airport

Families, big groups, multi-generational holidays, groups of friends all getting away together… summer holiday season is well and truly in full flow!

The 8-seater has certainly been earning its keep — everyone together, all the luggage in and no arguments over who’s following who down the motorway. 😂🚙🚗

We’ve had grandparents, parents, kids and enough suitcases to make you wonder whether some of them are actually planning on coming back. 🧳🧳🧳🧳😂

So after a pretty relentless couple of weeks, we’ve finally popped our head above water long enough to say hello! 👋

Plenty more airport miles still to come though… 🚐💨✈️
