A piece of missing paperwork can set the dominoes tumbling.

A key document like a commercial invoice not completed properly, or missing altogether causes delays at customs.

Those delays often mean missed connections, additional costs, a stressed recovery plan trying to get things back on track and often, missed delivery and stock-out issues.

Nobody wants that.

Do not wait at docks. Do not get delayed. Do not pay demurrage costs.

Ready to play your "Get out of Port" card?

An ETSF is an External Temporary Storage Facility - a designated area where goods arriving from outside the UK can be held before they clear customs.

We have one in our warehouse.

It allows cargo to be moved inland from the port BEFORE customs checks - a bit like it's an extension of the port.

It speeds things up, reduces port congestion and helps you avoid demurrage and storage charges at the quayside.

Chinese Golden Week is coming - and that means delays.

Golden Week runs from 1st-7th October and most Chinese factories and ports shut down completely during this time.

But it’s not just that week that gets disrupted.

Before Golden Week, we've already seen space tightening as shippers rush to move goods in advance.

After Golden Week, backlogs take time to clear and vessel schedules can be a bit more patchy.

Things still move , but slower and less predictably than normal.

Check the status of your shipments now - then have a plan for what to do if it gets caught up in the Golden Week delays.

National coverage should include local presence.

Many businesses offer national coverage, but do so from a single office, using sub-contractors via partners or That's not good enough for businesses whose operations and customers are predominantly regional.
