CONGRATULATIONS CLASS OF 2026
University of Stirling

To everyone graduating today and tomorrow, congratulations on reaching this incredible milestone.

Over the years we have had the pleasure of helping many of you get around Stirling. From your first days arriving in the city to your graduation day, we’ve watched students grow, succeed, and achieve their goals.

We are always proud to see students progress and move on to exciting new opportunities. While we will miss seeing many familiar faces around the city, it’s been a privilege to be a small part of your journey.

We hope you’ve enjoyed your time in Stirling, made lifelong friends, and created memories that will stay with you forever.

Wherever life takes you next, we wish you every success and happiness. Enjoy your graduation ball at Stirling Court Hotel this weekend.

Don’t forget there’s a free Scottish Water refill tap on Port Street, near Timpson, where you can top up your water bottle while you’re out and about.

And tonight at 11pm, we’ll aw be sitting nervously watching Scotland take on Brazil. Whether you’re in your favourite pub, a local hospitality venue, or watching from the comfort of your own home, cheer as loud as ye can and keep believing in the boys.

The Tartan Army continues to do Scotland proud, showing the world the warmth, humour and welcome that makes our wee country so special. Wherever they go, they’re welcomed, adopted and remembered long after the final whistle.

While our Tartan Army are over in Miami, doing their bit for Scottish tourism and turning the beaches into an extension of Sauchiehall Street, back home we’re enjoying what appears to be Scotland’s annual summer.

So get out and make the most of it! A bit of sunshine, a dose of vitamin D, and suddenly you’re convinced life is great, the grass needs cut, and a wander into town sounds like a cracking idea.

You might even find yourself sitting outside your favourite coffee shop, sunglasses on, iced latte in hand, pretending you’re in some beautiful historic European city…

Then you remember… you actually are.

No need to fly to Rome, Prague or Edinburgh when you’ve got Stirling on your doorstep. Castles, cobbled streets, centuries of history, and enough outdoor seating to let everyone pretend they’re on holiday for a couple of hours.

Just don’t get too carried away and buy a paddling pool. We all know how this story usually ends by Thursday.

Happy Father’s Day to all the dads out there! 💙

Today, we celebrate every kind of dad — stepdads, bonus dads, grandads, foster dads, pet dads, single dads, and all the father figures who have made a difference simply by being there.

Many of us grew up listening to our dad’s favourite songs. At the time, we might have skipped them, rolled our eyes, or wondered what all the fuss was about. Then one day, those same songs come on the radio and suddenly we’re singing every word, smiling at the memories, and realising Dad knew a thing or two after all.

Today is also a day to think of those who find Father’s Day difficult. Those whose dads are no longer here, those visiting dads living with dementia, those missing their dads, those becoming dads, those hoping to be dads, and those holding onto precious memories instead of making new ones this year.

Father’s Day is about love, guidance, support, and the people who have helped shape our lives. Whether your dad is beside you, far away, or forever in your heart, today is a chance to celebrate the impact he has made.

Whether it’s a card, a call, a visit, or simply a quiet moment of remembrance, take time today to honour the dads and father figures who mean so much.

And to celebrate the music and memories they gave us, tell us in the comments: What was your dad’s favourite song or band? We would love to hear the tunes that remind you of him and the memories they bring back.

💙 Happy Father’s Day from all of us at Indy Cabs.

Nae the result we were after the nicht, but we’ll dust oorsels doon and go again.

A tough yin against a guid Morocco side, but the boys kept grafting tae the final whistle and never chucked it. That spirit’s what Scotland’s aw aboot.

And while the result didnae gang oor way, there’s nae doot the Tartan Army are still winning. Everywhere we go, we’re welcomed, adopted, and remembered. The fans have done Scotland proud once again. Truth be telt, if the Tartan Army hadnae been there, there would hardly have been a story for the news reports at aw.

Still aw tae play for, still plenty tae believe in, and ye can guarantee the Tartan Army will be right behind them every step o the way. 💙

Keep the heids up. Onwards and upwards.

Still a proud Scot here 🏴󠁧󠁢󠁳󠁣󠁴󠁿🏴󠁧󠁢󠁳󠁣󠁴󠁿🏴󠁧󠁢󠁳󠁣󠁴󠁿

This Weekend: Temporary Road Closures for Public Processions in and Around Stirling

Before anyone asks “What’s causing the traffic this time?”… here’s your heads-up!

A wee snapshot o whit’s happenin in Stirling this weekend

Aye, we ken there’s loads gaun on ootside oor toon an aw — the Royal Highland Show is on at Ingliston this weekend — but let’s be honest, why drag yersel miles up the road when there’s plenty happenin right here on yer ain doorstep?

Stirling’s local businesses are ready tae welcome ye in wi a big smile and a warm hello, because ye’re no just passin through — ye’re local.

And Stirling’s lookin absolutely heaving this weekend. Whether ye’re efter a big night oot, a laugh, live music, family bits, a wee cultured wander, or yin o they “I’m only nippin intae toon for half an hour” lies that ends wi chips, three voice notes and a story ye cannae fully tell yer maw — ye’re sorted.

Friday is comin in like it owns the place, wi SLAY! at The Albert Halls, Stirling, Side Splitters at the Tolbooth Stirling, and Greig Taylor at Foresters Arms, Cambusbarron.

Then later oan ye’ve got the World Cup fitba, wi Scotland v Morocco bein shown across the toon — ideal if yer plan is pints, pals, and shoutin at a screen like Steve Clarke’s personally asked for yer thoughts.

Saturday is absolutely hoachin, wi The Little Children’s Market in Fallin, Circus Berlin at King Park, and the March for Independence kickin aff at 11am fae Old Stirling Bridge and heidin tae Bannockburn Field. Ye’ve also got New:Noise at the Tolbooth, The Mini Guns at Slanj A Va, and Enchanted – The Candlelight Concert at The Albert Halls if ye’re feelin a wee bit fancy and want tae pretend yer weekend’s got a touch o class.

If ye’re headin anywhere on Saturday, just mind there’ll be temporary road closures round about because o the march, so gie yersel a wee bit mair time gettin where ye’re gaun… unless ye’re quite happy tae get there by joinin the march on the way.

Sunday is a wee bit softer — or at least it likes tae pretend it is. Circus Berlin is back on again at Kings Park, and there’s also a Sunday session at No 2 Baker Street, wi DSP live fae 4pm–7pm.

And aye, Sunday is Father’s Day in the UK this year too — 21 June 2026 — or as we aw ken it, Superhero Sidekick Day. If the auld man’s a wee bit delicate efter aw the weekend carry-on, maybe dinnae fling him straight intae anything too ambitious. Get him along tae Game of Throwing Stirling, an Escape Stirling, or somewhere he can take it easy while still lookin like he’s fully involved. A low-effort legend’s day oot.

And if Sunday finds you a wee bit delicate an aw, dinnae panic — the independent coffee shops will have the breakfasts oan and the coffees ready for aw you poor souls clingin tae life. Whit a night it was, eh?

If ye want tae sound aw cultured and that, there’s also“Golden Repair” at the Tolbooth Gallery — an ongoing exhibition that’s free tae visit and runs until Saturday 25 July 2026. The gallery is open Tuesday tae Saturday, 10am–5pm. Free, arty, and makes ye look like ye’ve really got yer life thegither.

So whether ye’re heading oot for the fitba, a pint, a boogie, the circus, the march, a Father’s Day dauner, or a wee cultured wander, Stirling’s got ye covered this weekend.

And a wee reminder while ye’re oot and about — support local if ye can. Grab the coffee. Buy the ticket. Order the dessert even if ye said ye wouldnae. Pop intae the wee shop. Tip if ye can. It aw matters.
Love local. Support local. Love Stirling events.

And if there’s an event happenin this weekend folk should ken about, stick it in the comments — dinnae be keepin it tae yersel. We’re aw nosey anyway

Morning, folks

One mair sleep.

The excitement wis buzzing before the first game, but noo the nerves are in like a last-minute penalty — we’re definitely no ready tae be heading hame yet.

The Tartan Army willnae be quiet either — if they get any louder tomorrow night, the roof’ll lift aff the stadium.

And back hame? We’ve got our job. Pub, club, hotel or anywhere in Stirling that’s showing blue — every cheer, groan and spilled pint matters.

So get yersel oot, back Scotland, back local spots, and keep the place moving faster than a Scotland counter-attack.

We’re aw the 12th man.

Nae Scotland, Nae Party. 🏴

So… where you watching the match the mornin’ night?

HEADS UP, STIRLING FOLKS!

There’s a March & Rally for Scottish Independence X happening this Saturday, starting at Old Stirling Bridge and heading to Bannockburn Field, so expect a few temporary road closures and delays along the route.

If ye’ve somewhere to be, gie yersel a wee bit extra time… unless ye fancy getting well acquainted with Stirling’s finest queues.

We’ll still get ye there — just maybe by the scenic route!

REOPENED

A9 Southbound Closed Near Dunblane

The A9 southbound is closed between the A820 Doune Road junction and Keir Roundabout after a crash involving two HGVs around 4:20am today. Both drivers were taken to hospital. Emergency services remain on scene, with recovery work ongoing and diversions in place. The road is expected to stay closed or reduced to one lane until vehicles are recovered.

As always in these situations, our thoughts are with the drivers and the emergency services dealing with the situation, and we hope both drivers are okay and make a full recovery.
