Friday should feel like Friday. 💜

You’ve spent all week thinking about work, appointments, school runs, emails and everything else.

So if you’re heading out tonight, here’s one decision you don’t need to think too hard about:

How are we getting home?

Sort the taxi before you go.

Then enjoy dinner. Have the extra drink. Stay a little longer. And when someone eventually asks “shall we get a taxi?”…

You’ve already dealt with it. 😌🚕

A SMALL CHANGE FROM TOMORROW 💜🚕

You may have heard that taxi fares across Somerset are changing from tomorrow, following the introduction of Somerset Council’s new tariff.

For Taunton Taxi Services, we’ve spent some time deciding what we think is fair.

Running costs have increased significantly - from insurance and vehicle maintenance to simply keeping a good fleet on the road.

The easy option would be to adopt the new maximum rates.

We’ve decided not to.

From tomorrow, our standard daytime starting fare will change from £4.60 to £4.90.

And that’s where we’re stopping.

The rest of our tariff will remain unchanged.

We think 30p is a reasonable compromise. It helps towards the increased costs faced by our drivers and the business, without passing the full increase onto our passengers.

We’ve been serving people in and around Taunton for a long time, and we know household budgets matter just as much as business ones.

So while the permitted fare may be going up further…

ours is staying under £5. 💜

Thank you, as always, for choosing local.

Happy Wednesday! 💜🚕

Halfway through the week - although somehow the to-do list doesn’t seem to have noticed. 😅

Work, appointments, trains to catch or just somewhere you’d rather be than where you are now… we’ll take care of the getting-there bit.

One less thing to think about. 👍

We’re making a little bit of Taunton taxi history. 🚕

Taunton Taxi Services and Charlie Cabs have created Taunton’s first Multi-Fleet taxi network.

Importantly, we haven’t merged.

Taunton Taxi Services remains a completely separate company. Our name, our team, our number and the service our customers know aren’t going anywhere.

Instead, we’ve found a smarter way for two established local taxi companies to work together behind the scenes.

Our new technology allows both fleets to cooperate when needed - helping us make better use of vehicles already out on the road and giving customers more options when Taunton gets busy.

It means we can retain everything that makes Taunton Taxi Services Taunton Taxi Services, while gaining the strength of a larger local network.

Same company.
Same familiar service.
Same 01823 248 248.

Just a bigger network behind us. 🚕💜

Taunton’s first Multi-Fleet taxi network.
Two local companies. One goal. Getting you there.
