Well have you ? my bet, no. You have truck booked in for the show you want, family holiday booked, but CPC, hmmm, am I doing again, not sure, I might retire LOL. Light Goods Vehicles

From 1 July 2026, light goods vehicles (LGV) over 2.5 tonnes that are used for international journeys between the UK and EU for hire and reward must have a smart tachograph 2 fitted.

If you’re being paid to drive a LGV over 2.5 tonnes between the EU and UK on and after this date, it will need to have a tachograph fitted and you will need to comply with the assimilated drivers’ hours rules to remain compliant.

Does this apply to my vehicle?
A vehicle or vehicle and trailer combination doesn’t need a smart tachograph 2 fitted if:

it’s being used on an international journey for the driver or operator’s own account and driving does not constitute the driver’s main activity
it weighs over 2.5 tonnes and less than 3.5 tonnes and is operating only within the UK
What do I need to do?
If the rules apply to your vehicle, you need to take action before 1 July.

The average lead time for tachograph fitting bookings is around 4 to 6 weeks on average, so take this into account.

Its your licence look after it, just one example below. Keep that CPC up to date each 7 hours only valid for 5 years.
CATEGORY REMOVED FROM LICENCE BY DVLA
Partner discovered a few weeks ago that his licence no longer shows he is allowed to drive a car! Just motorbikes! He applied for a new licence when he passed his bike test & it must have come back without the car category on it. He sadly didn’t check. DVLA say they have no evidence that he passed his test (40 yrs ago!) & he doesn’t have a copy of the back of his original one (he destroyed the original licence as requested) We have tried everything & because he needs to drive for work we have been advised that he should just!! retake his test.
So theory done, manual car purchased (we only have automatic) & test booked. He is currently having a lesson to get him test ready.
This has caused so much stress & cost us considerably.
They have us over a barrel as don’t want to bring too much attention for fear of being done for historically driving a car without a licence!
SO, before sending your licence to the DVLA photograph BOTH sides!! IT'S NOT GOING AWAY
