SERVICE CHANGES &

From Monday 7 September 2026, there are a number of changes to Services My21 and 21X.

📍 CITY CENTRE CHANGE
All journeys will now pick up and set down at Clifford Street Stop TD.

⚠️ York Piccadilly will no longer be served.

🔄 ROUTE CHANGE
The first journey of the day will continue to operate on its current route past the station before Clifford Street.

All subsequent journeys will operate:
Bishopthorpe Road → Clifford Street → York Rail Station

This change has been introduced to help improve reliability and punctuality. At present, buses can lose significant time around York, particularly at Nunnery Lane, Piccadilly and other congestion pinch points.

🕐 NEW TIMETABLE
A revised timetable will come into effect from Monday. Some journey times have been adjusted, particularly during the afternoon, so please check the new timetable before travelling.

🏇 YORK RACE DAYS
Service My21 will continue to operate its normal route on York Race Days. The previous diversion via Tadcaster Road is no longer required due to changes to the race-day traffic arrangements.

We understand that changes to a familiar route can take some getting used to, but these changes are designed to help us provide a more reliable and punctual service.

Due to late running from its previous trips, the following journeys are cancelled:

13:00 York Piccadilly to Acomb
13:25 Acomb to York Piccadilly

The bus will be leaving Piccadilly on time at 14:10.

SERVICE UPDATE

Due to a road closure on Fishergate, some services are currently diverting.

🚌 Service 36 – towards Sutton ONLY
The service will divert via Walmgate and Paragon Street before rejoining its normal route.

⚠️ Stops missed: St Deny's Road & Dixon Lane.

🚌 Service 37
The service will operate through the city centre via George Hudson Street, Micklegate, Skeldergate and Skeldergate Bridge, before continuing onto Clifford Street.

⚠️ Stop missed: Edinburgh Arms.

Due to the closure of Rougier Street from 07:00 Tuesday 25 August (tomorrow) until 18:00 Wednesday 26 August, the following services will be diverted:

Will terminate at Merchantgate PC.

Due to a Police road closure between Wheldrake and Elvington we are unable to operate our usual 36 route.

All journeys between York City Centre and Elvington / Sutton upon Derwent will operate as X36 journeys today.
