OLYMPIA TOUR

Olympia a sanctuary of ancient Greece in Elis on the Peloponnese peninsula, is known for having been the site of the Olympic Games in classical times.
The sanctuary, known as the Altis, consists of an unordered arrangement of various buildings. Enclosed within the temenos are the Temple of Hera, the Temple of Zeus, the Pelopion, and the area of the altar, where the sacrifices were made.
To the north of the sanctuary can be found the Prytaneion and the Philippeion, as well as the array of treasuries representing the various city-states. The Metroon lies to the south of these treasuries, with the Echo Stoa to the east. The hippodrome and later stadium were located east of the Echo Stoa. To the south of the sanctuary is the South Stoa and the Bouleuterion, whereas the Palaestra, the workshop of Pheidias, the Gymnasion, and the Leonidaion lie to the west.
Olympia was also known for the gigantic ivory and gold statue of Zeus that used to stand there, sculpted by Pheidias, which was named one of the Seven Wonders of the Ancient World by Antipater of Sidon. Very close to the Temple of Zeus which housed this statue, the studio of Pheidias was excavated in the 1950s. Evidence found there, such as sculptor's tools, corroborates this opinion. The ancient ruins sit north of the Alfeios River and south of Mount Kronos (named after the Greek deity Kronos). The Kladeos, a tributary of the Alfeios, flows around the area.
Right before Olympia, we pass through two major cities, Patras and Pyrgos. There is no way to describe this tour, because Olympia is big for itself. The only thing I can tell you is that the place is breathtaking.

DELPHI TOUR

The place of Delphi is located around 200km away from Athens. It’s the most important of all the archaeological sites in Greece. The oracle, as people call it, is the place where all the Greeks went to ask Pythia, the high priestess, the outcome of what they were planning on doing. But before we reach Delphi, we pass by the town of Lebadia and we stop at the springs of river Erkina. In mythology, the gods were bathing there. Beautiful place with extremely beautiful view. You can go hiking at the fortress up the mountain and visit a small church on the top. Great photos can be taken from there because we can see all the way to Parnassus. Leaving Lebadia, we move towards osios Loukas. A monastery which is preserved heritage of world monuments by UNESCO. The monastery is both Catholic and Orthodox and it’s been there for 1000 years. Osios Loukas, the person who built it is lying there and we can still see his cell, the way it was then. In the monastery, we can see things like an oil refinery, horse stables and beautiful art made by the monks that live within it. Our next stop is Arachova, a ski resort town, only 15km before Delphi. The town was built on the side of mountain Parnassus and all the houses are made of stone. At the place of Arachova is where we eat coming back from Delphi. And finally, Delphi. The mystery oracle place with a museum that has no words to describe it. It’s much better to see it, than me talking about it. After this tour, I’m sure that all of the visitors will take with them memories of spectacular views and art.

ARGOLIS TOUR

On that tour, you will see the most important ancient sites of Greece. A small passing through ancient Corinth, just to arrive to Mycenae, the place where the civilization of Greece started. An area rocky and rough, but with very beautiful villages surrounding it and beautiful art crafts, giving you a taste of how the Greeks philosophized life. Nemea’s stadium is the next place we’re going to visit. It’s a stadium very well preserved, with so many details that will amaze you. On our way to the next stop, we see Nafplio, a town next to the sea with the fortress of Palamidi and its thousand steps, beautiful view and photos can be taken from there. From the coast road we can see Bourtzi, a tiny island with a castle on it that was used as a prison. Epidaurus comes next. CORINTH TOUR

In that tour, we follow the steps of Saint Paul, who was here preaching for Christianity. Corinth is located an hour away from Athens. It’s a city known for its beautiful gulf, the gulf of Corinth, and for its canal that connects Aegean to Ionian Sea. The first stop is at the area of the canal where you will see how difficult it was to be made and it’s there where you’re going to taste the best yogurt with honey from a Greek producer all the way to your plates. The next stop will be Ancient Corinth, the oldest and richest city in Peloponnese. It’s still a huge city, with a very beautiful museum and wonderful workmanship. The nearby town will give you plenty of things to taste, like oranges, wine and olives. The final stop will be at Acrocorinth. It’s a castle on top of Ancient Corinth, made in 700 BC that you can walk inside it and from where you’ll have one of the best views of Greece. Showing the Corinthian gulf and the mountains of Peloponnese, all the way to the other side where the oracle is located.

SOUNIO TOUR
(temple of Poseidon)

75km on the southern east side of Athens, there’s a temple for the god of the sea, Poseidon. At that temple, the sunset is the most amazing thing that happens, because it’s located by the coast and when the sun sets, it feels like you’re sinking in the sea with it. The tour starts from Athens and it takes place all along the coast, where you can see the beautiful beach of Athens, Vouliagmeni and Kavouri and you can have a quick swim and then you go all the way to Lemos, a great place for hiking and photos. On our way to Sounio, we will also see the lake of Vouliagmeni, a lake that connects to the sea with no depth measured yet, although they had many attempts to do it. Legrena is a village before Sounio that we will visit and there you can have some ouzo, hanging on the beach before the sunset comes. After the sunset and Sounio, we start coming back to Athens through another road, passing from Lavrio port where the Olympic port is located. Finally, you can be dropped off at the most amazing seafood area, where you can try excellent fresh fish and squids.

FOOD TOUR IN ATHENS

Athens has a variety of things to taste and enjoy the flavor even if that is sweet, sour or spicy.
The food tour includes sightseeing as well because it’s located near the archaeological sites and market area.
Let’s talk a little bit about it:
A car picks you up from the place you are staying and drives you all the way up to the Acropolis in a specific café where you can drink a coffee and have a full view of Athens. Next stop would be the market place where you can taste and smell all kind of herbs and delicacies that grow all over Greece. For example, honey. We continue by sitting on a beautiful located place, that shows all types of people and characters that live in Greece. At that place, you can try ouzo or raki, original Greek drinks, pastrami and cheese made in Greece. Continuing our tour, we will eat souvlaki. A round pita bread with onions, tomato, garlic sauce and meat, spicy or not. The thing is that there you meet the greatest souvlaki maker, named Kostas, who will make your day. Finally, by the old parliament, we taste a Greek delicacy called loukoumas that is made of flour, original olive oil, handmade honey and cinnamon. Most of the flavors that you would taste, will remain in your lives forever.

ATHENS TOUR

Athens is a city that has a historical center, it includes seven different ancient sites and five extra spots that people coming to Greece want to see. The car that will pick you up (one up to eight people) will first take you to the Acropolis, where you are going to be stunned by the art and workmanship of Parthenon, Caryatids and many more. Second stop by the Acropolis is the Ancient Agora and Roman Agora, place that the ancients created and the Romans completed. The tour continues to the Tower of the Winds, where the god of the winds Ae**us kept his winds. By it, we will visit Monastiraki and Hadrian’s library and we will move all the way to Kerameikos, the graveyard of the Ancients. Next stop will be the Temple of Zeus and Arch of Hadrian, a temple that has twelve columns symbolizing the twelve ancient gods. The Arch symbolizes the need of the Greeks to show respect to our Roman conqueror because he would rebuild the Temple of Zeus. Little bit further away is the theater of Dionysus, where all the theatrical plays of Aeschylus took place. A magnificent museum, the new museum of Acropolis stands by the theater of Dionysus, where the next stop will be. Moving to the center again, we visit the parliament and the change of guards. A beautiful sight, showing Greek guards in traditional uniforms, making special moves and salutes. The breathtaking Olympic stadium takes place in our tour. Also called as Panathinaic stadium or Kallimármaro. This stadium was created in 329 BC and it is all made of marble. Our final stop will be Lykabettos hill. A place that’s located exactly in the center of Athens and from there you can see a full Athens view from up high. The return to the place that you’re staying will be full of memories from the things that you’ve seen.
