Swiss Immigration Officer: You're Canadian, coming from Greece after you landed in Paris in early March?

Me: Yes

Him: You were in Pakistan as well?

Me: Yes, in 2015.

Him: How did you go from France to Greece?

Me: I was transferring a Catamaran sailboat from La Rochelle, France to Athens Greece and landed in the Port of Lavrio on April 10th.

Him: 🤔

The Ancient Greek temple of Poseidon at Cape Sounion, built during 444–440 BC. It is perched high above the Aegean at the very tip of the Attica peninsula. This is truly one of the great sacred places of the ancient world, saturated in history and myth. The sight of this temple from the sea was the homing beacon for Greek sailors through the ages returning from long and arduous adventures, both real and in myth. Our adventure was real but the experience was mythic!

We're leaving Sardinia tonight for Sicily. We found another Greek "Pirate" to sail with. They've had a really hard time with their transfer. They left Greece & arrived in La Rochelle, France on the 19th of February. Not an easy trip for them due to issues with their "new" boat, with many stops and maintenance.

They're in good spirits & asked us to stay close to them until they get across to Sicily & Calabria.

We all had a good laugh about arriving in Greece to be fined 5000 Euros!

We are legitimate business people and find ourselves in unprecedented circumstances.
Most importantly, we are Greek citizens coming home from work - in an industry which is the most important to our economy.
