🔹Clean Monday is a public holiday in Greece & Cyprus, where it is celebrated with outdoor excursions, the consumption of shellfish and other fasting food, a special kind of azyme bread, baked only on that day, named "Lagana" (Greek: λαγάνα) and the widespread custom of flying kites. Eating meat, eggs and dairy products is traditionally forbidden to Orthodox Christians throughout Lent, with fish being eaten only on major feast days, but shellfish is permitted in European denominations. This has created the tradition of eating elaborate dishes based on seafood (shellfish, molluscs, fish roe etc.). Traditionally, it is considered to mark the beginning of the spring season.

🔹Petros was a great white pelican. It was the official mascot of the Greek island of Mykonos.
In 1958, a wounded pelican was found off the coast of Mykonos by a local fisherman. The pelican was nursed to health and remained on the island supported by locals. It soon adopted the name "Petros", as a joke among locals, as "petro" in Greek means "rock" or "stone", but metaphorically "old and grumpy"[citation needed]. Petros was hit and killed by a car in December 1985.
Subsequently, three new pelicans took up residence around the main town of Mykonos. One, honorifically, was given the name "Petros".

🔹Little Venice (Alefkandra), Mykonos Town (most western part of town). A district located at the sea, famous for it's picturesque medieval two and three-story houses, which stand like a wall above the sea, and their colorful wooden balconies. Little Venice is one of the most beautiful and romantic places in the whole of Mykonos and offers a fantastic sunset. A favorite activity is drinking a cocktail in one of the many bars and cafes while watching the sunset on the seashore. You will reach Little Venice walking from the windmills down the stairs. It is only a five-minute walk from Fabrika bus station and there is a sign for it on the other side of the square.

🔹 The Mykonos windmills are an iconic feature of the Greek island of the Mykonos.
The windmills can be seen from every point of the village of Mykonos, the island's principal village, which is frequently called the Chora (which translates to "Country" in Greek, but refers to an island's "Town") on Greek islands.
The windmills are the first thing seen when coming into the harbor of Alefkandra, as they stand on a hill overlooking the area. Most windmills face towards the North where the island's climate sources its strongest winds over the largest part of the year. There are currently 16 windmills on Mykonos of which seven are positioned on the landmark hill in Chora.🔝🔝🔝
