Logistics and supply chain management are related, but they have different jobs in business. The supply chain is like the whole life of a product, from getting the raw materials to making and delivering the final product to the store.

People often use the words "logistics" and "supply chain management" interchangeably. But, is there really a difference between logistics and supply chain management? Knowing how these areas work can make businesses run better, make customers happier, and give a business an edge over others. This article looks into the distinction between supply chain management and logistics and why they matter to businesses.

Now, logistics is all about moving and storing things in this process. While logistics is super important in managing the supply chain, it's just one part of the whole picture. Logistics is all about managing the movement of goods from where they're made to where they're needed.

There are different types of logistics businesses:

• Courier Shipping: These are the companies responsible for delivering products directly to customers. Think of them as the last step in the delivery process.
• In-House Logistics: Some big companies handle their logistics within their own operations instead of hiring others to do it. This gives them more control and easier communication with their transportation team.
• Logistics Service Providers: These companies manage the flow of goods from where they start to where they end up. They handle things like warehousing, distribution, and transportation.
• Reverse Logistics Companies: These specialise in managing the return of products to manufacturers, especially when items are defective or unwanted.
• Third-Party Logistics Providers: These companies offer various services like shipping, packaging, and storage. They handle these tasks for other businesses.
• Warehouse Providers: Some companies just focus on storing goods. When products arrive at the warehouse, they manage everything from keeping track of inventory to picking the products off the shelves and sending them out when orders come in.

These innovative solutions have empowered logistics companies to boost operational efficiency, cut costs, and elevate the quality of customer service.

Naresh Ambadkar, a common man from a rural village in Amravati, had modest aspirations but a strong belief in himself. In 1975, he made his way to Pune and took the bold step of starting his own transport company. Naresh worked tirelessly, putting in long hours and immense effort to establish his business and make it successful.

Recognizing the potential for growth and expansion, Naresh called upon his younger brother, Ganesh, to join him in the venture. Ganesh, eager to support his brother's vision, began his journey in the company as a laborer. He immersed himself in the business, absorbing its intricacies and acquiring valuable experience and skills along the way.

Unfortunately, fate dealt a cruel blow when tragedy struck, and Naresh Ambadkar met an untimely demise due to a tragic accident. The sudden loss thrust the responsibility of running the business onto Ganesh's young and relatively experienced shoulders. Driven by a deep desire to honor his brother's legacy and continue the enterprise they had built together, Ganesh made a resolute decision to take the company to new heights.

Ganesh's determination manifested in his heightened vigilance and focused approach to the business. He implemented innovative strategies, expanded the company's operations, and forged valuable partnerships. Through his unwavering dedication and hard work, Ganesh successfully steered the company towards prosperity, overcoming the challenges that lay in his path.

Amidst the flourishing business under Ganesh's leadership, another figure entered the scene—Naresh's son, Vishal. With his father's tragic demise, Vishal had been observing and learning from his uncle, Ganesh, about the intricacies of the trade. Bursting with youthful energy and enthusiasm, Vishal was eager to contribute to his father's company and carry forward the family legacy. Under Ganesh Ambadkar's invaluable guidance, Vishal gradually assumed control of the business, ready to lead it into the future.

Guided by Vishal's capable leadership, the logistics company continued its ascent, scaling new heights year after year. Vishal brought fresh ideas and a youthful perspective to the table, blending them with the wisdom and experience imparted by his father and uncle. Together, they ensured the continued success of the company and solidified its position in the industry.

The inspiring tale of the three pillars of the company—Naresh, the founder; Ganesh, who navigated through challenging times; and Vishal, who propelled it to new heights—exemplifies the spirit of entrepreneurship, perseverance, and the enduring legacy of family in the business world. These individuals are rightfully regarded as the father figures of VTC (the transport company), and every member of the organization reveres their contributions and leadership.
